I suppose there comes a time in every agents career when they contemplate selling their personal property. I've heard a lot of agents say, "that's why we did get into the business isn't it, we love houses." We drive to the office every day, passing homes we adore, preview other agents listings, attend open houses, and of course show our clients property. All the while, forcing the temptation to purchase for ourselves to the side.
I am at the stage of my career now, (and life too),where I feel I am ready to move on, and move up to a larger home. I see houses in surrounding areas that I feel would suit my families needs, alternatively, there are no houses in the town where I currently reside that fit our needs. I guess I am just like one of my clients that just wants to hold out until "the right house" comes along!(Don't you just hate that).
Should I just list my home with my agency, or continue to do what I have been doing, letting other agents in the area that my home may be listed, and describe the property to them. Am I stepping into unchartered territories or doing the right, common thing?
