Wasted Tax Dollars

Here is a prime example.  Just today I was visiting my parents house for lunch.  My parents live in Northshore Beach Subdivision in Slidell.  This is a waterfront community on lake Pontchartrain.  This area was hard hit by Katrina.  The home next door has a FEMA trailer on the property.  We are almost three years after the storm now.  Well just today a man driving an U.S. Government tagged truck showed up next door.  He was looking for the trailer occupant.  My dad informed him no one had ever stayed in the trailer. ( That is another story)  Seems the man had a weather radio for the neighbor.  Since living in a FEMA trailer was unsafe in severe weather.  I bet this was at least a $50 dollar radio.  I wonder how many they have given away.  Also why now?  Three years after the storm?  People this is where the money goes.  Dumb projects like this.  Wasted trailer, employee working on Sunday, driving a government vehicle.  This will add up quick.

So... do you have a lottery going... the one where we all guess the date that they remove the trailer?

John:  I know that you and I disagree on a lot of our politics, but I have to say that I'm truly ashamed of my country in regards to how it's handled the aftermath of Katrina.

My girlfriend and I went down to the Gulf Coast and drove from Mobile to New Orleans and the only things that looked like they were coming back were Casinos and Waffle Houses!

We met one lady who's insurance after the huricane had jumped to $9000.00 a year!  This just ain't right!
