I've been feeling like all I do on my blog and commenting on others is complain about the market, etc...Well today was different.
Years ago, while working with a different business partner for a large franchise company, we had the opportunity to show quite a lot of properties to a couple who ended up purchasing land and having a home built. Honestly, my partner spent much more time with them than I did. I hate to admit it, but I barely remembered their names.
Well it seems that they're in the beginning stage of thinking about selling. Their children and grandchildren live in another state and they know that they won't be able to take care of their property in a few years. They decided to call my former partner (who is no longer in the business and has moved away.) They reached an agent at my former office who graciously explained the situation AND passed on my new number and office location.
I met with them today. What a delight! I knew they were not ready to list their house, and made the appointment just to reconnect with them. 2 hours flew by before I knew it!
So into my database they go, and I know I'll be getting a lovely listing in the future! Meanwhile, they will hear from me monthly through my newsletter and also a "check-in" phone call every few months.
From the agent at my previous office to the kind words for my dear friend/former business partner, today's appointment reminded me how great this business can be!
