Don't make this mistake, you won't be happy!

Today I decided to go to my usual spot for lunch, I go there a few times a week. I almost always pay for my smaller meals with my check card Visa. Do you know where this is going yet? Well my total bill came up to $7.98, not bad for a Cheeseburger, Fries & large bottle of water.

HOWEVER, my good friend *accidentally* rang me up as $7987.98 (he entered the number twice!) and NOW that account is a TAD BIT overdrawn. The turnaround time for Bank of America to get this corrected? A whopping 1 week. Great! Can't wait! I have to admit, that one hurt. More so, because I now have the wife buzzing in my ear "WHY DIDN'T YOU PAY WITH THE AMEX CARD!?!?"

Hi Stanley, For this market - the "Realtor's Best Lunch" is 2- Double Cheeseburgers at McDonalds ($2.10)and bring your own drink and pay cash. By the way any referrals for Frederick?

I never expected 8 comments within 20 minutes, thanks folks! A bigger thanks for most of you not bashing me LOL.....now I will respond to each of the 8 so far below:

Lisa - You and my wife must share the same mind, she has been giving me a hard time for years about using my check card for small purchases. I guess I learned the hard way this time!

JB - Thanks, I hope that you never get in the same boat as me, it is rocky out here LOL....

Ernie & Barb - I must say that was a yummy Cheeseburger, and every calorie all 7987.98 was worth it, now lets see how Bank of America helps me digest it!

Katy - You're 100% correct, and to be honest all this time that was something I was willing to take a chance on. This one takes the cake for me, I'm going to put everything on the credit card from now on. I still refuse to pay cash for the majority of the purchases.

Eric- You haven't heard? Due to the higher gas prices, and the slow real estate market....all fast food places are taking a stand. There is a conspiracy, and I was the first test dummy! lol

Douglas- To be continued, keep you posted next week. Bank of America promises that they will take care of it ASAP (meaning within 7 days). I'll hold my breathe, and start up an ANTI Bank of America blog if that doesn't happen :)

Shane- This one hurts LOL.........it won't have any negative impact, but it's just rough going through the motions like you said.

Jon- Why thank you sir, and no charge to you LOL.....what is your best by the way? :)

Jim - That's not a bad meal! Did you hear the news today (all jokes aside) that McDonald's is talking about cutting their dollar menu due to the current economy status?

Stan, all you have to do is go to your friend and have him issue a credit in that amount then re-bill it for the correct amount, poof done in 1 minutes time.

Larry - Smart choice, glad you learned from my mistake! No charge :)

Duane - Not as easy as said, unfortunately! He has already issued a credit (or better yet voided the charge). It got done right away, however Bank of America can't even get in to dispute the charge until it clears! Once it clears and they see the voided transaction, then they do their thing. They said once they get a hold of the void, it will take 3 business days! You have got to love the check card system. :(

Duane- Yes, love em or hate em. Right now, the later is more accurate for me! Anyhow it doesn't matter, once my wife found out .....I have been permanently banned from using my check card ever again. Specifically "you can only use it if you are making deposits, or withdrawing money". She is taking the fun out of it!

Never pay with a check card from Bnak of America that is! I will not steal your thunder here Stanley but if you check out a previous blog of mine I uncover big time the ridiculous fees and lack of customer support demonstrated from B of A recently with my accounts.......
