Rockville Named Among the Top 100 Best Places to Live in Money Magazine

ROCKVILLE, Md., July 16, 2008— The City of Rockville has been named among the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the August edition of Money Magazine.  Rockville was chosen as one of America’s best small cities for families because of its ample job opportunities, good schools and low crime.

Rockville, earning its place at No. 66, took honors for its newly developed Town Center that offers plenty of shopping and restaurants. It also ranked high in leisure and arts because it is home to a civic ballet, youth orchestra, art show, university and concert series to name a few.

“Although it’s exciting to be picked as a top place to live in Money Magazine,” said Mayor Susan R. Hoffmann. “Anyone who lives in Rockville already knows it’s number 1.”

Each year Money Magazine uses a set of criteria to rank the best places to live. This year cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000 were measured on the ease of living, health, education, crime, park space and arts and leisure.

The City of Rockville is a 13-square-mile city with a population of 59,100 and is located 12 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. For more information, go to www.rockvillemd.gov.
