Turn Lemons Into Lemonade!

Ever have a day when nothing seems to turn out?  Everything you do is laced with disaster???? I had a day like that recently.  I overslept and had to rush to an early morning meeting of our board of realtors. Being 15 minutes late, the meeting was already in progress when I showed up; it didn't help matters that I was supposed to be running it!  The stress of being tardy had me rushing so much that as I sat at that meeting I realized I had put on two different colored shoes!  No matter; no one would notice I reasoned.

Prior to another appointment, off I go to change my shoes so I don't look like a fool...as I walk in the house, I notice a bad odor coming from the bedroom.  It seems one of my "babies" (my two puppies-Toby and Muffin) had an accident.  I think it was Toby, for he looked very guilty!  I was so rattled that after cleaning up, I forgot all about changing my shoes and spent the entire day in mismatched shoes.

The day started to take an upturn as I had an expensive listing renew with me, and I was feeling pretty good about myself.  So at the end of the day, I stop at the supermarket for groceries, and promptly lock myself out of my car!!!!!!!!  Here I am, on a blustery windy day, wearing a short sleeve top, billowing skirt that kept trying to catch the wind, and no wallet, no phone, nothing.  The supermarket supervisor was kind to let me call my husband on his cell; after a couple of tries where it kept going to voice mail and I thought I would pull my hair out, he answered.  When I told him what happened, he was sympathetic but told me I would have to wait as he couldn't leave what he was doing!

In a sulky mood, I sat out in front of Shaw's and waited like a petulant child! One of my friends came by and asked what I was doing sitting in front of the store, and "wasn't I just freezing in that little sleeveless top?"  Grrrrrrr. I nearly screamed!  All of a sudden, this big, shiny tow truck pulled up in front of us and asked, "Hey are either of you ladies waiting for me?  I'm here for Triple-A to unlock the car that called in".  Well I jumped up so fast that my skirt almost took me into the air like a hot air balloon.  I was so excited I forgot I had mismatched shoes, or that my ice cream was melted in my car, or that the day had been so bad.  There is a God after all!  He surely provides when we ask; for I had been fervently praying on that bench for a miracle and here he was in a big, shiny tow truck!

Rose, it's days like this that make us appreciate the good days. At some point, you just have to throw up your hands and laugh!
