Way to Go, Highlanders!

Artist rendering of StadiumHonestly, I do not think anyone would have ever guessed that The Woodlands Highlanders would shut out the Katy Tigers at the new Woodforest Stadium last night. I am one of those die-hard fans who has had season tickets for years and years. Because of the long-term relationship I have with season tickets, I have superb seats, with backs and cupholders. Can high school football get any better than that?

Yes, it can! Two shut outs in two games! Many of the long-term, die hards were saying they had never seen a Woodlands team play as well as they played last night. They executed on almost every play. With a total of 398 yards, the Highlanders held the Tiger to a mere 72 yards, all on the ground. Standouts included Eastman, Rowe, Lasco and McCloud. Then there was backup running back Arias who scored in the 4th. But the thing is, every man did his job and did it well. Ben Pruitt, who kicked a field goal and extra points, was just a toddler when I first met him. Now he is almost a man ready for the world. I guess I am getting old...

Mark Schmid, hats off to you and your coaching staff. Way to go, great start to the season.

CISD and the residents who voted for the bond issue should be thrilled with the new stadium. It is beautiful and honestly, the traffic isn't that bad.

Congratulations Highlanders!  This looks like an amazing stadium from the picture.  This is truly something to be proud of.
