Description: The annual Theodore Payne Fall Festival and plant sale shows Angelenos show how easy & satisfying it is to garden with California native plants – and save water!
The 46-year-old non-profit Theodore Payne Nursery in Sun Valley celebrates the beauty (and practicality) of California natives.
Presentations take place throughout the event. In addition, knowledgeable staff and volunteers show how easy it is to garden with natives.
Many native plants require less water than non-natives, so you can save on your water bill. They don’t require soil amendments like fertilizers, so you can help reduce groundwater contamination. Many natives attract birds, hummingbirds and butterflies.
Most importantly, natives are beautiful. |
