I worked for the YWCA Clark County for five years as their Auction Manager. They have a vibrant marketing department and the auction was their largest fundraiser every year. I'll blog more about their extremely FUNdraising auction at another time.

The YWCA serves over 10,000 women, children and families per year in Clark County, Washington.

Some of the fantastic programs they have are:

SafeChoice (which is an educational program and a safe shelter for the battered women and deals with domestic violence.)

The YWCA also has a HeadStart program for "homeless" children who attend because their Moms are within the SafeChoice program.

There is also an ILS (Independent Living Skills) program that supports teens aging out of the Foster Care Program. Most of these teens need a wide range of skills such as getting back to school, getting a job, and mentoring support of adults and peers.

There is also a program that advocates for abused and neglected children. There are over 650 such children in Clark County and only about 130 volunteers to serve this vital program. These volunteers go to court to advocate and protect the child's best interests.

There are many wonderful programs at the YWCA. If you'd like to donate or inquire about all of their services, please call 360-906-9100.
