it is a thrill to show agents how great this is. I am in Fox chapel doing this now.
I'm glad you are spreading the good news about Active Rain to other agents. It's certainly a large space for significant professional development and networking.
Hi steve, great reading your post on Active Rain. Still loved your book (blackberry in toilet) enjoyed your visit to san bruno prudential
Steve:
Our Market Center will be launching a Lead Generation Success Stories Blog on ActiveRain. Hopefully, this will light a fire in our building and get people more excited about the world of Online Social Networking. Keep flying the ActiveRain Banner and GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the blog. I am still trying to figure out how to use these networking sites.

Steve,
I'm glad to see you sharing your experience on Active Rain with your agents. It's a great source of networking, leads and information sharing!
Steve,
This IS some exciting stuff!!
Nate,
Get on as many social networking sites as you can handle. I joined about 10 sites, but feel that I can only "handle" 3-4 professionally. Pick them and go with it 100%!!
Good Luck!
Adam
Adam,
Great advice to Nate! Can you share the networking sites you are currently using besides Active Rain? Linkedin? Facebook? Twitter?
Thanks!
Hi Caroline!
I love Facebook - it absolutely has built my sphere of influence by over 150% in a very short period of time!! I know that I have to work my "business" into this sphere a little different. I want to catch up with all of these people I haven't seen in years and get to know about their families, professional life, etc. but I also want them to know that I sell real estate and am there to help them and their sphere when they are ready. There's a fine line here and I am careful not to cross it too early in the "relationship".
I like Linkedin - more professionals there - It's definitely a place where I go to comment on affiliated businesses and friends and business contacts. It's like going to a networking meeting and not having to actually go to the bricks and mortar of the meeting.
I've been on myspace for quite a bit and had gotten a couple leads from there, but facebook seems to be turning the page.
I'm also on YouTube and plaxo - haven't tweaked plaxo yet and I want to look into starting pages and groups on facebook and all of the wonderous applications available to us on there.
I'm also highly active in the local community and still play (at 32, it's getting a bit tougher then in my 20's) flag football and softball and will make sure everyone in the leagues know I sell real estate and who I am. Coach the kid's soccer team (he's 4 and this was his first year) and hopefully will continue to coach in the future.
