Mokulele Airlines is the latest arrival to the inter-island air travel market. They began flying on November 19th, using their 70-seat Embraer between Honolulu, Hilo, and Lihue. Recently, Mokulele Airlines announced they are joining Seattle-based Alaska Airlines’ mileage plan.
The two airlines announced in a joint statement Thursday that mileage plan members can earn 500 miles for each segment flown on Mokulele, beginning Dec. 15. Mileage plan members can earn double miles for travel on Mokulele from Jan. 1 through Feb. 28, 2009.
Kona-based Mokulele offers daily interisland flights from Honolulu, Kapalua, Kona, Lanai, Lihue and Molokai. The company plans to offer service to Kahului and Hilo early next year.
