150,000 POINTS – Is it really about the points anymore?

Michael, I fully agree with you. Active Rain has changed me in so many ways business wise and the way we do business. I mean look at my picture. I wouldn't have even try that two years ago (remember good for a laugh on me), anyway my business has increase due to my activity here on AR. Congrats on the 150k and see you at 175k shortly. I like the points, but ultimately I joined AR because of the relationships, the knowledge, and the exposure - and most importantly, having a forum to communicate about what is going on in the world.

That is great!  What a wonderful Christmas present.  I agree after a certain level it is no longer about the points.

What is Active Rain to you?

Great question!  I found ActiveRain because of Google searches I was doing for my clients.  I wanted to learn how AR posts were getting such strong rankings.  However, the knowledge I've gained here has actually become secondary.  For me, the most important thing about ActiveRain is all the new friends I'm making around the country.

First of all congratulations, and Merry Christmas!  Points are OK, but SEO and RSS syndication are better to give our blogs a productive lift.

Initially, I watch my points grow. Once I rank the top 2 in my little state, I stop watching. I enjoy interaction with fellow rainers much more than the points.
