Customer Loyalty means more now then ever!

I have always prided myself in the fact that I NEVER experienced an UN-loyal customer until now, when it meant the most. As a standard practice of going over buyer agency and disclosure, I went over everything including what to do if you find a property and I'm not there. I was taken back when I discovered through a friend that a client of mine walked into a sales office of a local development and  said she wasn't working with a Realtor and signed a contract for a home (over 200k).

I was pretty PO'd to say the least, and I thought to myself....what did I do wrong?? Bad explanation, not enough follow up, unliked, said something wrong, etc.....but then it dawned on me; I did nothing wrong, I just had a buyer that had no LOYALTY! To make it worse, when I called the developments office, I got the old, "HMMMM too bad" attitude.

It's cool, I'm moving on......but hey, back to the loyalty thing. LOYALTY doesn't need to be written in a contract, it's more of an action or belief in core values.

AMEN!  ...and...Mike, Do you really want to work with people like that?  I know you well enough to know your answer is "No!"  They do not deserve your attention and loyalty!  Maria

Mike:  I agree with you. Loyalty goes along way in the real estate business.  The clients who are not willing to give the same, especially when you do your best, is probably some one I would not want to work with either.  Chances are they would have gotten a better buy going through you as their buyers agent.  Best of luck selling in Beaufort in 2009.
