Update: I've now disabled commenting - I had a spam comment and now cannot delete it on my outside blog. I recommend everyone here be very vigilant about what information is attached to your name - that is why I require complete control of comments before I'll allow them on my blog. Hopefully this bug is fixed by active rain soon so I can re-implement commenting.

Up until recently I have disabled commenting on my blog. This was a decision I actively made for a number of reasons. I was concerned about the amount of time it would take to administrate bogus or off colour comments. Any intelligent business person realizes that the internet and search engines are very unforgiving. Being tied to something online can affect your business in a negative way.
I've been a member of active rain for some time now and really put in some sincere effort into content. There is not copy and paste, there is no easily aggregated data... I have become impressed with the community here and have just opened all of my blog posts to comment.
I welcome your feedback and look forward to exchanging productive ideas. Best of luck in 2009.
