They Just Don't Hand Out Those Babies

By

Trophy WinningThe Super Bowl at this time of year is a great study in the field of achievement. Many football widows that go off and do shopping or look at quiet Open Houses for the day don't get it. If you don't study sports or participate in sports I guess that is a normal feeling. Who cares about touchdowns or field goals or fourth down and one and you have to make a first down? Well with trophies

They Just Don't Hand Out Those Babies.

They must be EARNED. I've achieved sales awards, bowling trophies, softball, and archery trophies. I NEVER was handed one. Yes, they gather dust on shelves or on the wall over time, or end up in a box somewhere. But you know, for one shining moment, YOU did it, YOU were on top. It all is about the journey and earning your way to an accomplishment.

So with that said, go get out of life what you deserve. You already ARE a WINNER.

Just execute. Practice. Concentrate on your strengths not what you lack. Get better. You CAN DO IT. Have CONFIDENCE in you. At the end of the day when you hoist the token of whatever accomplishment your head and heart was set on, you'll know you did it.

P.S. If you are a quiet champion doing great things in the world, that is ok too. God is watching and He has some great rewards for you too!!

Gary,

Great post I have won some small awards myself and I am proud of them. I do display them in my office maybe they don't do anything for anyone but myself, but I do enjoy them. Everyone elso should do the same.

Gary as always very inspirational!  Archery? I can't remember anyone getting a trophy for that so congrats.  Congrats on your gold star, as always it's well deserved.

Thanks for the encouragement!  There is a guy working in my office that is in his 70's, he tells me "Josh, I know I'm a winner and have been ever since i was conceived cause i beat out the competition then and i will still beat them."

That is always encouraging to me and i thought you would like it.

HI Gary, the greatest achievements everyday are the ones that don't get noticed. The teacher that takes a moment to give encouragement to a student, a nurse that takes a moment to reassure a family member of a patient that it will be alright and so many more. No trophy, but great moments none the less. And you did it with no reward other than knowing that it was the right thing to do.

Yes you are right! We need to know that we did a great job and put everything into it and gave it everything we had and just believe in ourselves and we know that we deserve to be recognized and just be proud of ourselves for our accomplishments.

It always feels good to reach a goal. Many times we don't let ourselves just reflect awhile on the achievement. We hurry on to the next thing too fast. I will spend time with my business coach tomorrow. One of the things she does so well is to get me to focus on what I have achieved, rather than to beat myself up about goals not reached yet. Glad I have her! Thanks for the great post!

Very motivational that was a great thing. Nice Analogy with the football. It made me think about the obstacles in my life and how I have gone through them and coming out stronger that is what I feel that I have achieved my strengths are stronger every time.

Thank You,

Kim White

I like awards as much as the next guy, and have earned a few that I'm proud of.  All required a huge amount of effort and determination.  Reminds me of the saying, the harder we work the luckier we get!
