Good News....................

By
Real Estate Agent with Aubrey and Associates Realty

I was just reading a story on MSN.com.  There was a story in which Brian Williams on NBC where he had asked the viewers to submit ideas or stories of good news.  He realized that he had been bombarding the public with one depressing story after another.  They were literally flooded with emails for stories and ideas for Good News, or positive stories to report on.  The quote that caught my eye was that there were enough stories to have all of the networks too busy to cover them all.  The link the msn story is here:  www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29556042/?GT1=43001

Maybe that the media should get the hint.  We are sick of Bad news, we may not wish to hide our heads in the sand, but the endless economic crisis stories and all the rest really have been played out.  A little good news might revive my desire to watch any news broadcast once in awhile.  It has seemed like they have been playing the I can top that story with an even more depressing story forever!  Anyway, just my little Saturday Evening Rant.  Make it a Great Weekend and upcoming week!

I could not agree more.  I have almost all but stopped watching the news because it is so depressing!  I have way too much stress in my life and don't want to hear about everyone else's bad news!  It would be such a refreshing change if we got to listen to 90% good news and only 10% bad news.  Wonder what that would do to the country's overall outlook?

I agree that there is just too much bad news...that's why I hang out on ActiveRain where everyday is positive.  By the way, thanks for the comment on Sunday.

It's sad that the media only thrives on gloom and doom while there are so many good things happening. I saw one of those positive stories last week about a man who drives cancer patients to their treatments. He started doing it after his wife died of cancer, and plans on continuing until he's 100!

Thanks everyone for commenting.  I think that it is time to spend a part of the news casts on good news.  There are so many people doing so many great things in this world!

My marketing guru tells me that when he was growing up, his grandmother subscribed to a weekly newsmagazine called GRIT. It was nothing but positive news from throughout the world. Sadly, it apparently went out of business. After all, too much of the world wants doom and gloom....
