March 8th, So What????

Today is March 8th. What does it mean? and why is it a special day?
Back in the days when Soviet Union existed March 8th was a special day. It was a celebration a holiday. Everyone was excited because it was a day of the woman. She was treated especially nice and she would receive flowers and gifts from everyone. This was her day. She did not need to be a mother or a wife all she needed to be is a woman. Since then the Soviet Union is no longer exists. But this special day is now being celebrated even here in the United States of America.
So here I am, a woman, and I'd like to wish to all women in the entire universe a very happy and pleasent day today and always.
