Market Report February 2009

As of March 1, 2009 there were 126 homes for sale in the Town of LaGrange, NY. The homes ranged in price from a low of $139,900 to a high of $5,250,000. Twelve of the homes for sale in the Town of LaGrange are listed for over $1,000,000. I will present the statistics in two ways. The first includes only homes priced under $1,000,000. The second set includes all homes. I believe the first average listing price is a more accurate reflection of the affordable market in LaGrange.

There are currently 10 homes with accepted offers in the Town of LaGrange . The lowest list price with an accepted offer is $179,000 and the highest list price with an accepted offer is $514,000. The average days on market for a home with an accepted offer is approximately 91 days.

During February 2009, 5 homes sold in the Town of LaGrange. The lowest priced home sold for $83,999 and the highest priced home sold for $400,000. The average days on market was 87 days with the fasted sale occurring after 12 days on the market and the longest sale was on the market 207 days.

The town of LaGrange is located in the Mid Hudson Valley and is approximately 40 square miles. The population at the 2000 census was approximately 15,000. The town was named after the ancestral estate of the Marquis de Lafayette.

LaGrange is serviced by the Arlington Central School District.

LaGrange is convenient to both Route 9 and the Taconic State Parkway giving residents easy access to the major shopping along Route 9 and an easy trip to Westchester and New York City.
