October is breast cancer awareness month And in Moss Point Mississippi there is an event taking place Oct 20, 2012 at 9:am the event has been named; “Bra’s across the river”  to help bring awareness of breast cancer. Many of the bras have been decorated for loved ones who lost the fight or battle against this illness, while others are decorated with a themes, and many breast cancer survivors will be making the walk across the HWY 613 bridge in Moss Point MS.  .  The bras across the bridge, is a community event and this is the third year. Singing River Federal Credit Union (SRFCU) http://www.srfcu.org/  is a sponsor, and they are donating $1.00 to every bras that is dropped off at their location in Moss Point on HWY 63 just south of the interstate and before the river bridge. Stepped out of my house yesterday morning, a small chill in the air, fog hovering over the lake, and the sound of the birds singing. I said a quick prayer for my mom who is was  in MICU and Critical before getting into the car. As I looked up, I saw these amazing tiny crosses (the handy work of our creator), and felt a peace that only God could have sent.  I have lived around these pine trees all my life and did not know they produced these tiny crosses, I felt they were "just for me".!   I shot these photos with my IPHONE, and posted them on my Face Book page. Hurricane Katrina five years ago Hurricane Katrina came ashore along the gulf coast five years ago August 29, 2005 I was awake most of the night and watched the storm pass over from my home on Hwy 613 in Moss Point. Little did I know what was taking place only 5 miles from my house. Just across hwy 63 houses that should never have to worry about flooding were being flooded by this unique hurricane Katrina.  Katrina was different from other hurricanes that I had experienced. I sat on my back porch and watch the blue hole of water white capping. Yet very little rain was falling from this massive storm. It was not until latter that evening before we knew of the mass destruction Katrina had caused.
