The search continues for a missing student in Decatur County who officers said was dragged from her home, Wednesday morning. Holly Bobo, 20, was last seen around 7:30 a.m. after being abducted from her home near Parsons by a man, dressed in camouflage. Wednesday night, some of Bobo's friends and family, who spent the day searching for her, paused for a moment to pray for her safe return. After the vigil, volunteers were asked by authorities to go home and return at first light, Thursday. Meanwhile, investigators said they would continue searching for Bobo throughout the night. The moment family members began asking for help, neighbors started showing up to help. Investigators said a man approached Bobo and took her into the woods. There are important questions to consider when hiring a real estate agent to sell your property.   Are you a member of the MLS (multiple listing service)? I am! This allows other member agents to easily search and access information about your home to share with their buyers. Are you a FULL TIME real estate agent? I am! Many agents aren't. They ‘dabble' in real estate. This IS my job! I am available everyday to answer questions, show properties and schedule appointments. Are you a REALTOR? I am! I agree to conduct my business according to the strict code of ethics of the National Association of Realtors.. Because many buyers come from out of town, does your company have national name recognition? YES! RE/MAX and their balloon is known world wide. RE/MAX is the #1 Real Estate Franchise ...

A long week!! Cold and not something often seen in West TN, SNOW!!  Cute story, perfect end to a very challenging week. HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when hiswife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she couldsee from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things. He phoned the police, who asked 'Is someone in your house?' and he said 'no'. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available. George said, 'Okay,' hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again. 'Hello, I just called you a few seconds a...

The common misconception is just because you have a real estate license that you are a Realtor. Just because you have a real estate license does not mean you are a Realtor. A Realtor is under a code of Ethics of honesty and integrity. You can not be a Realtor with out belonging to the National Assocation of Realtors. If you are a member of the National Association you have many benefits for you and your clients such as the MLS ,key boxes and having readily information for all other Realtors. No matter how wonderful of an agent you are if you are not a Realtor and share your listings with other agents you are cheating yourself and your seller. Being able to place your listings on the MLS is such a powerful tool. Every agent has several buyers in their pool and every agent is informed on ...

You know we all talk about high gas prices, high food prices, times being really tough.  Well, really. This weekend, decided we would splurge and go out to dinner and a movie.  Well, the wait time at the restaurant was an hour.  The movie we wanted to see was sold out, there was not even a place to park. So, we decide to go to the mall and pick up a few needed things.  Well, the other half of the city that wasn't at the restaurant or movie, was at the mall. Guess it was a surprise.  We hear about how we have changed our lifestyles to make ends meet. The news media tells this sob story everyday. Decided to make a list of what adjustments I have made to compensate for the high fuel prices, the so called bad times.  To be honest, very few. I think there is probably more carpooling now due ...

You know more and more electric companies are offering rebate incentives to customers who buy energy-efficient replacement appliances, siding, and windows.  When buying appliances, I have always been told to go for the highest "R" factor.  Should be better insulated; however, they will cost more. Was reading an article about how long an appliance should last.  Here's what apppliance.net thinks:Refrigerator - 13 yearsDishwasher - 9 YearsClothes Washer - 10 yearsClothes Dryer - 13 yearsWater Heater - 11 yearsRange - 13 yearsTrash Compactor - 6 yearsFreezer - 11 yearsSo...when buying appliances, look for the "Energy Star" symbol.  It should be energy-efficient and supported by the EPA.Happy shopping!Linda Lipscomb, RE/MAX Unlimited, 870 W. Took a ride today to the beautiful Tennessee River. On route 641 from Parsons to Clifton, we ran upon one of the nicest restaurants.  Sitting in the middle of nowhere was this unique cajun style restaurant.  Just before the Tennessee River bridge, look to your right for Meo-  Mio's Restaurant. The food was fabulous.  The atmosphere was calm and relaxing.  There was a sports bar to one end of the restaurant with flat screen TV's and lots of space for your party or just to watch your favorite game with friends. In speaking with the owners, David and Kathy Turner, this is a fairly new place.  Business was booming today, so looks like they are doing it up right.    Highly recommend you try this one.  It's a beautiful drive and well worth it.RE/MAX Unlimited,  870 W. For 33 years Decatur County has held what is now know as the World's Largest Coonhunt.  This year's 3 day event begins on April 10 at the Decatur County Fairgrounds.   Opening ceremonies are Thursday night and include live entertainment.  The hunt gets underway on Friday at noon and Saturday at 9 am.  There will be great concessions throughout the weekend that include fish, barbeque, chicken, burgers, ice cream and wonderful desserts. A John Deere Gator with a tractor will be awarded to some lucky winner. Please remember this event raises money for the the St. Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.  Last year's hunt raised over $180,000 and during the last 33 years has raised over $3 million for this worthy cause.  So mark your calendars so be a part of this fun and exciting tradition...
