The Ann Magnolia (Tulip or Flowering Magnolia) is a beautiful, early spring, flowering tree guaranteed to turn heads. The rich purple-pink blooms are much larger than you would expect on a 10-foot or shorter tree. The Ann Magnolia is a cold-hardy tree, and the blooms smother the bare branches before other flowers awake from winter.

Wordless Wednesday - Yearning for Spring ... Again!
Well, it's been cold and rainy for the past day and a half, making me yearn for spring even more! The blooms just keep popping up all around Charlotte though, including the Camellias.
These are so vibrant among the brilliant green leaves with the still, brown backdrop of the remainder of the garden. It's a sure sign of beautiful things to come though...
