Speechless Sundays - Travelogue 2018 (Fort Lauderdale)
Nearly a year before our trip, Ray plans everything to a 't' - I just go along for the ride! Last month, we arrived to our beachfront hotel suite to find it 'not so' handicapped at all! There were features but, the bathroom is always the issue with a lot of hotels. This particular hotel, we hadn't expected any glitches.

We dropped off our suitcases and joined our friends for cocktails, a little shopping and later, dinner. After dinner, we went back to the hotel and asked for a different room. There was not an oceanfront … (17 comments)

travelers in the rain: Wordless Wednesday - Passover in St. Maarten - 04/04/18 09:38 PM
Wordless Wednesday - Passover in St. Maarten

What a wonderful few days we had in St. Maarten last week. We were there for Passover/Good Friday and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the people of St. Maarten who are still smiling, even in the midst of rebuilding their beautiful island. We had a glorious time touring the city and were all very surprised how quickly this island has been nearly fully rebuilt after the devastating hurricane season just a few short months ago.

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday weekend - we surely did!

travelers in the rain: Caribbean Sunset Photo #2000! - 03/31/18 10:53 PM
Caribbean Sunset Photo #2000!

One more sunset to capture tomorrow evening and we're homebound the first of the week. We're all excited to get home to our fur babies but, we'll miss the pampering & R&R! It's back to work soon and we're all recharged and ready for the crazy spring market!

I am thankful to have had the time away as it was much needed but, the workaholic in me is ready to hit the ground running next week!

Here's to taking time to smell the roses...and to savoring beautiful sunrises!

travelers in the rain: We Can't Take Our Eyes Off of the Water - 03/29/18 08:41 PM
We Can't Take Our Eyes Off of the Water
Exploring the Dutch side of St. Marteen today, we just could not take our eyes off of the glorious water - the shade of blue has to be my favorite! From the early morning taxi to the beaches of St. Marteen, the day was unforgettable. We may have found gorgeous scenery but, the jewels on the island were also quite beautiful...and we may have purchased a piece or two! The girls had facials as the icing on the cake today as well. Yes, life is good!

Tomorrow we spend the day exploring the French side … (14 comments)

travelers in the rain: St. Lucia Sunset - 03/28/18 10:51 PM
St. Lucia Sunset
We have an evening routine this week - the five couples with whom we are vacationing, join us on our balcony to have wine & cheese as we watch the sunset before dinner. Tonight, the show was spectacular! I think I have about 100 photos of the wondrous sky this evening! I think my passion for photography has worn off on our friends - they were all snapping photos too - all comparing our best shots with one another.

This was the best one I could quickly find and post - it's time to turn in and I don't have time … (12 comments)

travelers in the rain: WILSON!!! - 03/27/18 10:27 PM
WILSON!!!
Did you see the movie Castaway? Yesterday, our group was discussing the movie at dinner. This morning, we awoke to this floating object in the Caribbean in Barbados!  We all have suites that adjoin one another and we share a large balcony on the ship. I saw this floating in the water about 7AM this morning and looked at Ray, who hadn't seen it yet and shouted, "WILSON!!"
If you missed the movie, Tom Hanks was a FED/EX employee whose plane crashed; he wound up naming a volleyball 'Wilson' and nearly the entire movie was of him 'talking' to his only 'friend,' Wilson! … (38 comments)

travelers in the rain: Good Morning Sunshine! - 03/26/18 10:43 PM
Good Morning Sunshine!

Another gorgeous day at sea, winding up in Antigua for the day. The photo doesn't do the water color justice but, it is that Caribbean blue that is just awe-inspiring to me!

We're off to Barbados in the morning - more gorgeous scenery, unplugging (for 95% of the time!) and enjoying friendships and exploring the islands throughout the Caribbean.

Happy Monday!

Speechless Sundays - Caribbean Skies
Traveling to the Caribbean this week, we are looking forward to spending time with friends, enjoying fabulous food and diong a little exploring along the way! The weather is perfect as is the company and it's such a blessing to unwind with friends (all of whom needed a get-away)!

I'm checking in as often as possible but, time is limited when we're not out and about! There are 5 couples so, someone always wants to go do a little exploring and I'm LOVING it!

We're receiving daily updates from the couple staying at our home - with lots of … (20 comments)

Speechless Sundays - Is it Time for Vacation Yet?

Florence, Italy - This photo was taken from Piazzale Michelangelo Square when Ray & I spent a couple of weeks in France & Italy. This was one of my favorite views - breathtaking, panoramic views of Florence, Italy. Piazzale Michelangelo Square is located in the historic district of Oltrarno across the Arno River (from the center of Florence). This is a very 'walkable' area in the city and the views are simply spectacular...as is the food!

It's been about 15 months since our last vacation and we are chomping at the bit to head to warm weather soon!

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Speechless Sundays - Come Sail Away
Sailing from Italy to France, the Mediterranean was simply gorgeous. As much as I love this shot, the photo doesn't do the view we had justice. After this past week, I'm ready to soon sail away again - this time, to a different destination but, just as beautiful!

Who remembers this one?

travelers in the rain: Travel - Breathtaking Views in Maui - 10/21/17 11:33 AM
Travel - Breathtaking Views in Maui
When we think of traveling to Hawaii, water comes first to mind but, the mountainous views, views of the coffee fields and the volcanos are just as spectacular as the sapphire blue water. During our vacation in Hawaii and while on Maui, we took a helicopter ride tour and in my opinion, had the best views imaginable.

Living on Maui would definitely be a dream come true and I know our friend, Steven Nickens is living the life there but, if you're planted firmly in your home/city, a visit to Maui is certainly something for your bucket list. While … (25 comments)

travelers in the rain: Wordless Wednesday - Seduced by Marseille - 09/13/17 09:18 PM
Wordless Wednesday - Seduced by Marseille
Seduced by Marseille, we simply couldn't get enough of her gorgeous coastline and breathtaking historic architecture...Oh and we can't forget, the Bouillabaisse! We thoroughly enjoyed our tours through the oldest city in France (over 2,600 years old).

1.3 million people live in Marseille, making it the second largest (most populated) city in France (second to Paris). Marseille is the third largest (in size) city in France (Paris [1] & Lyon [2]) and is located in the south of France on the Mediterranean sea. Marseille also boasts the largest commercial port in France.

*Photo backdrop was truly our view - absolutely stunning! Also, … (37 comments)
