real estate: Talking the Talk, Walking the Walk - 07/26/19 10:02 AM
So many successful people who have become self-made, talk a lot about being a bootstrapper like Donald Trump. I really wouldn’t consider the President a bootstrapper but who can argue with Donald Trump.

My point is that it’s hard being self-made. People like us hear “no” repeatedly. Not only that but our family members fail to believe in us. Our friends laugh at us and others point fingers at us in judgment.

Making it requires not only skill and talent, but also perseverance and emotional intelligence to fight through all the difficult times. Therefore, when someone that started on the bottom becomes successful, … (0 comments)

real estate: What Should You Do After You Pass Your Real Estate Exam - 05/30/19 08:09 AM
Congratulations! You’ve passed your real estate exam. As a new addition to the large network of real estate professionals currently working to aid buyers and sellers through the process, there are a few logical next steps to take after completing your exam.
Just as the exam process itself differs slightly based on the state in which you are licensed, the next steps to getting work can also depend on the nuances of the market you’re looking to enter.
Nevertheless, there are some basic steps that most real estate professionals would agree are the most beneficial way to start your career off on the right foot.

real estate: Property Coin is the new Bitcoin for Real Estate - 02/15/18 09:09 PM
It's exciting times in the world of technology and real estate. A new cryptocurrency called property coin will hit the market in a few weeks. It was built on a blockchain platform similar to bitcoin. The future is here Realtors. Title companies will soon be obsolete and real estate will transfer via a click of a mouse. Are you afraid? I'm not. Change is inevitable.

The concept is interesting. Aperture Real Estate Ventures is the genius behind property coin. The currency will be back by real estate investments and loans from the investment company-which as the companies holdings increase so will the coins value.  The … (3 comments)

real estate: Why agents are afraid of the big F/U??? - 02/11/18 07:46 PM
Yes, i said F/U! Follow Up!  As a Realtor following up should not be a scary thing to do. It puts money in your pocket and gives you an opportunity to soar beyond measure.
I sold approximate 100 homes in my first two years of real estate sales, and many of those sales came from relentless following up. I did not quit when the homeowner said no I'm not ready to list my home, I kept pushing gently, with their permission of course, to continue to pursue the listing. Sometimes, I followed up once, some twice, but often it was months … (1 comments)

real estate: Having a Real Estate Security Plan is important - 05/31/17 02:18 AM
Real Estate Agent's are at risk when it comes to showing homes alone, sitting Open Houses, and taking photo's of vacant listing. Because we-Real Estate Agent's, are independent contractors, our security and safety must be our own responsibility. As a successful agent, I have shown thousands of homes and sat hundreds of open houses alone, but not until last weekend did I realize that I needed a safety plan.
I was sitting an Open House in North Philadelphia on Sunday alone. I set up my open house table next to the door, so that the guest will immediately be able to sign in, … (2 comments)

real estate: Snapchat and Real Estate - 03/08/17 03:46 AM
Snapchat went public last week with a huge bang, but since then it's stock price has dropped by 11%. The biggest problems facing the stock is the inability of shareholder input and most important it's inability to connect with older potential users.
What does this have to do with real estate?
I personally believe that it can be a huge opportunity for real estate agents to get in on the ground floor of this popular medium for teenagers and twentysomethings.  As an agent you can use Snapchat to post listing videos and open house video announcements. No more are the days of "If  … (9 comments)

real estate: Clutter Control-Putting your home on a Diet - 01/13/17 03:30 AM
"Clutter Control, Putting Your Home on a Diet" by Jeff Campbell is an amazing book to read. It's a easy read and it's extremely funny.  I'm bringing up this topic, as a Real Estate Agent, because clutter is something that I deal with on a regular basis when working with my seller clients. The bottom-line is that a home does not showcase well and sell quickly if it's filled with the seller's clutter. It's an uncomfortable conversation to have, but it's very necessary to discuss with seller's the impact on the sale of the home if it does not go on a clutter … (3 comments)
