holiday events: Christmas Affair 2021 ~ Tradition is Back in Austin TX - 11/17/21 04:51 PM
I’m feeling blessed the Junior League of Austin Christmas Affair is back this year!! The in-person event this year was so much fun! This year’s theme is “Dashing through the Snow” and returned to the Palmer Events Center located at 900 Barton Springs Road, Austin.
Austin has undergone many changes since I moved here in 1981. The only constant for Austin is “change” but the qualities our city cherishes: compassion, generosity and creativity never change. Every dollar raised during the five-day event provides much-needed funding for the Junior Leagues signature programs and community non-profit partnerships.
The annual event hosts over 200 retail merchants … (11 comments)

holiday events: Dishing with Dorie 12/09/19 - 12/08/19 07:52 AM
December is flying by! I went to a  dear colleague and friends 70th birthday party put on by his children.
Delivering Poinsettias to clients was so much fun and watching Clemson annihilate Virginia was quite the sight!
I went on a listing appointment and also made our Coldwell Banker Regional Christmas party at The Oasis.
I stopped by to visit my Geno, place a Christmas wreath at his resting place and tell him about what I've been doing. Many days are a challenge but I feel signs that he is my guardian angel. I'm off to the dentist this morning and will be glad when this appointment is over.

holiday events: Cedars Adorned In Their Christmas Finery - 12/17/09 05:46 AM

From the lowest valley to highest mountain there are those special people that go out of their way to bring Christmas cheer to all those around them.  What began a few years ago with one or two lowly scrub cedar trees decorated along the highways in Austin has blossomed into a hillside of holiday beauty.

Living in central Texas this poor ugly trashy tree called a cedar tree (mountain juniper) now draws the attention each Holiday season by so many who want to share the trees they are decorating.  You'll find this display along Highway 360 between … (8 comments)
