homes: Phoenix Home Sales on the Rise

Home sales in the Phoenix metro area are on track to increase about 30 percent during the next few months. According to a report by ASU, this potentially signals the restart of the area's stalled housing recovery.
The largest increases in pending sales are homes priced from $150,000 to $250,000. The three largest factors in the market shift are less-stringent lending standards, the federally mandated cut to the FHA mortgage insurance, and the drop in mortgage rates since the beginning of the year.
FHA loans have a lower down payment requirement of 3.5 percent compared to other loan products, and that rate is appealing … (2 comments)
