I have no showings set up for today. But this is still a work day.....in real estate we need both, days with clients and days without to keep things moving forward properly. If we don't have time to do follow-up and paperwork, all the showings are for nothing. So today I will: Open 2 new escrows and get information/files to my assistant Send follow-up emails with tax/background/comps to clients from showings yesterday Check on pending short sale approvals Check in with lenders on existing escrows Blog and answer questions on Trulia Contact pipeline and offer help Go to the market … (19 comments)

I am sick :(! My son was home all week and my husband started groaning about Wednesday. Last night? Me! As a mother, wife and Realtor® I'm supposed to be immune, you know....mom never gets sick. But I let it in and slept all of 2 minutes all night (exaggeration....I feel like my husband saying that). Ugh! But I have a relocation client today....so out I go! I'll stay a safe distance from everyone, not coughing nor sneezing so as long as we aren't kissing, we should be ok. I just don't have the heart to cancel. Sometimes you just can't. … (23 comments)
We all need to get things off our chests...myself included. And lately have we ever ranted here at Active Rain!!! We've taken down unresponsive listing agents, low-balling buyers, lazy buyer's agents, unrealistic sellers. We've complained about the lack of phone calls and (in my case) too many phone calls....or at least phone calls at the wrong time. We've basically just vented our end-of-the-year frustration. I've looked all over my house this morning....and no voice. Yes, yes....I should have taken better care of it this past week, I was fighting a flu (I guess you could say I lost that battle). But I managed to get things done via email/voicemail/assistants and safe distances. But today.....I need it and can't find it anywhere. Uh oh! Now....regardless of how sexy my husband thinks I sound, I would really like to be able to speak to my clients today. I feel fine now and can work. I am no longer contagious. This is a simple concept! But how do you do with it? We obviously can't be everywhere at once, and yet that's what our clients and colleagues expect. So where exactly are we to be? Be There.... when your buyer or seller needs to ask you a question. We clearly can't answer the phone or email every moment of every day. But we do have the responsibility to check on these frequently. Make sure your clients know what is the best way to reach you....and what timeframe they can expect for a response.
