illinois: The Price of Procrastination /Interest Rate Complacency - 06/15/09 10:10 AM

The Price of Procrastination
Everyone Wants a Lower Price, But What About the Impact of Interest Rates? Does waiting really prove to be benefical? Here is some food for thought
When shopping for a home, the natural tendency of any buyer is to want to pay the lowest price possible. It's important to keep in mind, however, that the sales price is not the only factor that determines what your monthly payment will be. In fact, the impact of higher interest rates can easily nullify any benefit of waiting for a lower price.

illinois: Imitation is the best form of flattery, until………. - 06/03/09 08:08 AM
Until your good name is besmirched. Homes for Heroes in the past has taken people leveraging our brand as flattery. illinois: Schmobal Florming? - 01/19/09 01:21 AM
Global Warming, Schmobal Florming!! At the Homes for Heroes office the whole past week it has been below zero Set a record here for the coldest days in December and January.  I kind of liked the idea of our planet warming up. Why do we have to stop it? Us up here in Land of the Lakes would be able to extend the fishing season, increased growing season etc. So at time of posting it got back up to a balmy 19! Yay, I finally get to put on shorts! Here are some videos of how cold it can get here. … (2 comments)

illinois: Housing recycling tips/ Going Green in 2009 - 01/18/09 06:49 AM
We start a new year, and with a greener party coming into power, my thoughts have been on recycling and green topics.  I have never been much of a recycler I must admit.  I do use junk mail as fire starting material and I occasionally refill plastic water bottles with tap water.  Oh, and let’s not forget we compost in the unfrozen months.  Does that make me green?  What other things can I recycle that will not only benefit the environment, but also me? Homes for Heroes has a low carbon footprint.  Just ask the office staff.  They will pull down … (4 comments)
