In Part 2 we’ll focus on music in all its various forms in Carlsbad.

Who wouldn’t enjoy free live music in a beautiful Carlsbad park on a Friday summer evening? What a winning combination for summer entertainment!
And that’s what the 36th season of Carlsbad’s TGIF Concerts in the Parks series is all about.
The Concerts are presented by the City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts Office. Not only are the free concerts great entertainment, but the raffles held at intermission raise funds for Carlsbad art programs.

The Carlsbad Music Festival is pleased to present another outdoor Eclectic Lawn Concert in Carlsbad Village on Saturday October 9 at St. Michael’s by the Sea from 2 until 6 pm.
Carlsbad’s reputation as an arts community – visual arts, music, theater – continues to expand, and so much of it is FREE. There are events all year-round for visitors and residents to enjoy!
The pandemic resulted in many events being canceled in 2020 and in 2021 but thankfully that is changing.

The Musical Kickoff to the Holidays will take place in Carlsbad Village on Saturday, November 30, from 4 until 7 pm.
Small Business Saturday is the same day, starting at 10 and lasting until 7 pm, so now you have 2 great reasons to spend time in the Village as things ramp up for the holiday season on Saturday November 30th.

No doubt for many Carlsbadians the free TGIF Concerts in the Parks are a highlight of summertime in Carlsbad, other than time at the beach. Indeed this outdoor concert series may very well be the best entertainment option around North San Diego County!
You can’t go wrong with a winning combination of great music, in one of our beautiful Carlsbad parks, on a Friday summer evening. And they’re FREE!! It doesn’t get much better than that!
Summer is just around the corner and outdoor events are ramping up in Carlsbad Village by the sea.
Tonight is the 1st Friday night of 6 consecutive free concerts. Tonight the fun will be at the Choice Superfood Bar and Juicery, a very cool shipping container restaurant with a small 7,500 SF artificial turf park at the corner of State Street and Carlsbad Village Drive (other locations in Del Sur and Solana Beach) that open in 2014.

If you don’t already know, the TGIF Concerts take place on 9 consecutive Friday nights in 4 of Carlsbad’s beautiful parks.
The Carlsbad Museum of Making Music (MoMM) is a real treasure for anyone with an interest in music.
As one would expect in any museum, history is admirably conveyed through a vast collection of instruments, recordings, photos, and so much more. It’s not the sort of place to rush through…but then what museum is?
You can easily spend an hour or two seeing everything the Museum offers, with a bunch of hands-on and interactive displays.

The 6th free TGIF Concert in the Parks takes place tonight from 6 to 8 PM at the Poinsettia Community Park.

The Carlsbad Music Festival, the 3rd annual, for 2015 kicks off the summer with a Village Music Walk this Saturday in Carlsbad Village. Stay tuned for updates on the Music Festival itself taking place on September 19, 20 and 21.
The Carlsbad Village Music Walk will feature 30 musicians offering more than 60 sets of music over a 6-hour period from 4 - 10 PM on June 20th (pre-Father's day!).
