Can you find a five digit number that, if you place a 9 at the beginning to make a new number, is fours times larger than if you place the 9 at the end instead? Sorry for a really tough one this week. But, Than Maynard did ask for these. If it's too hard - blame him, LOL. I'll stop back with the answer in case no one gets this. James recently moved to his first brand new house. When he arrived there he discovered that the builder had forgotten something. James popped down to the local DIY shop to enquire about the prices. Luckily the items are quite cheap at the shop. 7 cost $1.00, 10 cost $2.00 and 100 cost $3.00. What had the builder forgotten and how much will 210 cost?

Last week I painted a one-foot cube block of wood using red paint. Yesterday, I decided to cut this cube into smaller blocks, each 3 inches wide. How many of these smaller cubes had red paint on: a) 4 of the sides?b) 3 of the sides?c) 2 of the sides?d) 1 of the sides? e) 0 of the sides?

I'll stop back later with the answer, in case none of you sharp eyed people get this one. Warning - it is a toughie!!!! I was WAY off with my guess. This is a lot harder than it looks and you may want to step back a little from the screen to help some.
