north jersey home staging: Fifty Shades of Gray Freed - Top Paint Colors - 09/27/18 04:59 AM
Okay, so maybe not fifty, but enough examples of tried and true grays that always work when selling...or staying.
While grays are trending, it can be very tricky choosing the right one because most have undertones or can look different depending on how much natural light they get.
I’ve compiled a list of NJ's Elite Staging's tried and true grays that work every time.
One note: While computer screens can be off and paint chips are too small to know what the color actually looks like, we use these colors over and over and they always look amazing. Buyers love the … (38 comments)

north jersey home staging: A Realtor, Home Stager and Inspector Walk Into a Bar… - 09/22/18 05:38 AM
A Realtor, home stager and Inspector walk into a bar...
They all order a drink. The Realtor says, “Why do I need a home stager?” The NJ home stager says, “Why do homeowners need a Realtor?” The inspector says, “Every home needs an inspection so why the hell am I here?? The Realtor and Stager say, “Who invited you?” The inspector bored out of his mind downs another shot and calls an Uber.
The Realtor and Stager drink their Margaritas. The Realtor goes on to say, “Every buyer needs professional guidance navigating the turbulent waters of selling. We provide everything from listing … (36 comments)

north jersey home staging: Tips, Photos and Sources for Staging Your Home - 03/05/17 05:19 PM
We’ve all heard how important it is to create emotional connections with buyers when your selling your home. But what exactly are they and how can you create your own without looking stagy? Most of us are visual creatures so my hope is that by using photos along with our tips and sources, you too can accomplish those so important emotional connections yourself.
Coffee Tables
You can't go wrong with white Orchids (a great source is HomeGoods - inexpensive, but great quality) and coffee table books, which we purchase on Amazon because you can't beat their prices. Type in the keys words "interior … (54 comments)

north jersey home staging: Home Staging 101 With Photos - 02/09/17 04:34 AM
Staging is different than the way we live. Most of us have taste specific décor and more furnishings than what you’d find in a staged home.  I’m not saying the rooms should be sparse, but less is more when it comes to staging, putting the emphasis on the home's square footage.
The goal of staging is to showcase the home and its architectural details. That’s why we use a neutral pallet. We want the home and its architectural features to take center stage (pun intended).
Vacant homes will never capture the attention of buyers as much as a well staged home whether in … (22 comments)

Fifty Shades of Gray: Paint Colors When Selling
Okay, maybe not 50 shades, but it got your attention, right? As NJ home Stager we highly recommend that if you haven’t painted your home’s interior in the last 5-7 years or your colors are taste specific, you really should invest in painting before you list or stage your home. Not only does painting yield a 300% ROI, but it’s the most effective way to update your home. Moreover, clean, neutral walls make your home look newer.
However, choosing the right paint color is really confusing, so I’m here to help! As a NJ … (40 comments)

north jersey home staging: Is Virtual Staging Bait and Switch? - 12/20/13 05:23 AM
Is Virtual Staging Bait and Switch?
I’m not looking to stir up controversy, but wrote this post to open up a dialogue on how Realtors, buyers and NJ home stagers feel about virtual staging vs. hands on staging. This topic came up when a local Realtor and builder hired us to stage their 3 million dollar new construction luxury property. She explained that the previous listing agent had used virtual staging on MLS and placed large virtually staged posters at the entrance of each room.
She went on to say that when buyers showed up they were disappointed and confused, … (110 comments)

north jersey home staging: Occupied Staging on a Budget by a Morris County Stager: Before/Afters - 03/09/12 07:03 PM
Staging Occupied Homes on a Budget by a Morris County, NJ Stager
The goal of every good home stager is to highlight the home’s assets, showcasing its best architectural features (fireplaces, crown molding, baseboard molding, hardwoods, windows, paneling, and coffered ceilings) all on a budget and without having to rent furniture.
We get creative and repurpose extraneous furniture from one room and use it in another.  We strategically place accessories (art, lighting, pillows, plants, throws, centerpieces, and bedding) to draw your eye to those coveted features while updating your home, giving it a cohesive and neutral palate that will appeal … (30 comments)

north jersey home staging: Bathrooms - Simple, Inexpensive Changes Make a Big Impact - 10/02/11 02:10 AM
Bathrooms - Simple, Inexpensive Changes with a Big Impact
We’ve all heard that kitchens and bathrooms sell homes. My first advice as a Morris County Stager is NOT to invest a lot of money into either when selling your home. Yes, you heard me right. Work with what you have, paint (if it’s been a while or you have a loud color), accessorize, and clean, clean, clean.
1. Discard any toilette seat covers, or rugs around or even close to the toilette – it’s outdated and unsanitary.
2. Clean with bleach – it’s the only product that truly gets rid … (39 comments)

north jersey home staging: Morris County Stager: The 10 Most Important Cost-Effective Fixes When Selling Your Home! - 02/26/11 11:23 PM
Morris County Stager: The 10 Most Important, Cost-Effective, Fixes When Selling Your Home !
As a Morris County Home Stager, I've compiled a list of the most important tasks to complete before putting your home on the market...
1. Master bedrooms and baths should appeal to both sexes - if yours is gender specific, balance it with some masculine/ feminine accessories - pillows, art, greenery, a well placed throw and use neutral bedding - your grandmother's homemade quilt isn't going to cut it!
2.  Walk through each room as if you were a buyer  - can you move freely about? If not, … (110 comments)

north jersey home staging: Home Staging vs. Interior Decorating By A Morris County Stager - 02/24/11 01:13 PM
Home Staging vs. Interior Decorating By A Morris County Stager
This Morris County Stager knows the difference between home staging and interior design so I thought I'd clear up some misconceptions and explain the difference between the two and their very different goals and objectives.

An interior decorator designs for their client's specific taste: everything from ultra modern to very traditional and everything in between.
Staging is preparing the home for the market by updating and neutralizing the décor and paint color to appeal to the masses and should not be taste or gender specific. The only exception … (22 comments)

Morris County Staging: You Can Bet Your Sweet @$$ Looks Matter When Selling Your Home!

And, Hiring Morris County's Elite Staging doesn't have to break the bank!
There's a misconception out there that staging is a big expense, a waste of time and money...blah, blah, blah - I've heard them all. Like it or not, looks do matter, (please! This is America after all, the culture of all things Hollywood!) Looks especially, apply to how potential buyers will view and perceive your home.
These are some examples from Morris County, NJ's Elite Staging that made a big impact on how this home was received by potential … (33 comments)

A Morris County Stager Asks: Does Your Client's Home Say "Welcome" or "Keep Out"?

When potential buyers view your home on MLS or in person, what message are you sending - welcome home or move on to the next listing? Enhancing curb appeal doesn't have to involve major work or break the bank.
Inexpensive fixes that persuade buyers to want to see more:
1. A home's front door should be the focal point that draws buyers in. Paint it in a brighter shade that contrasts, yet compliments your home's façade. This is a cost effective way to make a big … (21 comments)

Home Staging Morris County- Another Satisfied Customer!
Kitchens have become the heart of the home and this one needed some color and warmth. I decided to  go for a Tuscany look, which went well with the rest of the home. We painted it harvest gold by Sherman Williams to enhance the cabinets and brick. Because the appliances were so old (the oven didn't even work), the owners decided to replace them with new ones to update and add value to  the kitchen without doing any major renovations. We added a few accessories and here are the results - hope you like!

north jersey home staging: Morris County Stagers and Realtors: You are the Company You Keep - 02/05/11 04:45 PM
Morris County Stagers and Realtors: You are the Company You Keep
Whether you are a professional stager or realtor, you are considered the expert and must have a reliable referral list for your clients when their home needs repair work and/or projects prior to putting it on the market.
Your list should include: painters, contractors, carpet cleaning services, handyman, flooring specialists, plumbers, landscapers and cleaning companies.
Do your homework:
A great source to conduct a background check on any of the aforementioned vendors is  Angie's List : They don't accept anonymous reviews and use a certified data collection process to screen vendors. They … (52 comments)
