I have painted several nostalgic businesses around the country.  This is The Morris Performing Arts Center, located in downtown South Bend, Indiana. The acrylic painting is 24" x 36" on stretched canvas. The Painting was commissioned as a Christmas present in September of 2016.  The man who ordered the painting, requested special things on the marquee, as well as the green fountain, which went along with the Broadway play "Wicked'. The performance was in early September, 2016. The lady walking toward the theater was … (13 comments)

***** Go, Chicago Cubs ******
As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most.  A number of years ago, I exhibited at an Art Show, just across from the Wrigley Building in Chicago.  Hearing that we were just minutes from the Billy Goat Tavern, with it's Chicago Cubs curse history, I had to go check it out and take a few photos.
After winning the National League Championship this year and now on the way to the World Series, I felt that it was only fitting to highlight this painting as a reminder … (2 comments)

A Painting - The Milk Silo - "Before and After".
As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most.  This photo was taken in Woodland, Indiana, south of South Bend and Mishawaka on Hwy 131 near the one block town of Wyatt.  I was always fascinated by the advertisements on the sides of buildings, like "Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco" and others, but I had not seen many cement grain silos with ads on them...especially a Milk advertisement.

A Painting - Wicker's End - "Before and After".
As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most.  This photo was taken just outside of a junk shop in middle Georgia. I couldn't help, but paint an acrylic painting of the wicker chair.  It was painted in the 1980s. With the obvious condition of it, I decided to call it "Wicker's End.  Prints of the chair became one of my best sellers over the years on the road.

A Painting - The Big Chicken, "Before and After".
As an artist, I am always looking at things differently than most.  This photo was taken in Marietta, Georgia at the corner of US 41 and Roswell Road.  The Big Chicken, built in 1963, was originally a barbecue fried chicken restaurant called, "Johnny Reb's Chick, Chuck and Shake".  Since I took this photo and painted the painting, the building was torn down and rebuilt.  It looks similar, but is a just a little shorter.  The feather on the back of the head and beak moved, as well at the eye rolled around.
After the huge 68 feet building was constructed, everyone … (16 comments)
