As many of us know, the real estate market in the Silicon Valley is hot, and continues to be so.
The charts below illustrate what we've been seeing in the last 12 months in the condo and townhouse market in Mountain View.
Months of inventory for the last 3+ years has been low, and continues its downward trend.
Mountain View condos and townhouses sell quickly and well, and proper pricing, preparation, marketing, and knowing how to reach your target buyer demographic can produce stellar results.
While the average sale price to list price ratio was 101.7%, my recent seller received 107.8%. Is that result typical? As … (7 comments)

The Silicon Valley has a booming real estate market at present, but is this a new phenomenon?
That's a question I often hear. I know from being in the trenches, representing buyers and sellers, that the market is strong, but let's take a look just how strong it is in four of the Silicon Valley towns where I work, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Cupertino.
We'll look today at median sale prices for single family homes from 2010 through April, 2015. These statistics come from MLS Listings, our multiple listing service.

Where in the United States are home values increasing the fastest? Using data from Zillow, NerdWallet.com has compiled a top-20 list of cities.
The Top 10 are of great interest to me; they are all clustered around two areas of the country, my Silicon Valley area of California and the Miami, Florida area.

Thousands of San Franciscans headed out this morning to Crissy Field, to rooftop decks, and along the Embarcadero to catch a glimpse of its final piggy-back ride. Home prices expected to rise in the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metropolitan area.CNNMoney.com published an interesting article entitled California housing prices on the rebound. The article talked about the San Francisco-San Mateo-Redwood City areas. It gives an opinion of why home prices in that area are rising, and gives encouragement to other areas of the country. Their comments mirror what I've seen in the part of San Mateo County where I work.

This week I debated the wisdom of holding a Father's Day open house. Traditional wisdom in my area says Mother's Day is a good open house day, but Father's Day is dead. After consideration, I went ahead and held open a 2-bedroom condominium at 1963 Rock Street in Mt. View, California. I'm glad I did! Today was the first open house for the new listing at 1963 Rock Street, #12, in Mountain View, CA 94043 It was a beautiful day, and being perched in amidst the treetops was delightful. Imagine my surprise when I looked from one of the decks and saw this sunbather at the pool:

My favourite thing to do is to walk and hike in the beautiful parks surrounding me. I have discovered another amazing park that is great for the whole family.
