Do you know about Active Rain's Weltanschauung? Some organizations might call this a Mission Statement, a statement outlining the core beliefs of the company, but Weltanschauung is a much more interesting word, right? Weltanschauung - a new word to most of us. And that brings me to one of the guiding principals of Active Rain, point #10: ActiveRain believes that it is in the best interests of real estate professionals to build a community that is focused on educating one another. Our colleague, Lynn Friedman, is once again kicking the new year off to a great start for us with her 2017 Blog Jumpstart Challenge. One of the components of this challenge is to review the Weltanschauung, or guiding principles, of Active Rain and pick one that resonates with us. I realized this morning how grateful I am for Point #8, We believe in spirited discourse, but personal attacks or predatory behavior will not be tolerated. Weltanschauung: the guiding principles and philosophy of an organization; a world view. Active Rain's Weltanschauung is summed up in 10 concise statements, one of which is: "ActiveRain believes that it is in the best interests of real estate professionals to build a community that is focused on educating one another." As I re-read these guiding principles today, that is the one that jumped out to me. The education I have received here on Active Rain in the last 5 years is huge. At the beginning of March, our colleague Pat Kennedy posted her Spring Challenge, and encouraged us to think about, develop and share our own Weltanschauung, the guiding principles and philosophy of our lives or businesses. If you haven't yet done so, read her post and join in before the end of the month.
