video: The Other Side Of SEO: Using Clues From Search Engines To Present Contextually Relevant Real Estate Content - 09/13/08 03:51 PM
You've done all of the SEO stuff that the gurus talk about. Lots of people talk about the "help search engines find you" part of interaction with website visitors. Far less people talk about what to do once the visitors arrive.
It only makes sense that visitors come to your site looking for something since they are using search engines to find new content. That visit may be the first and only time that they visit your site and that "something" they are looking for may still be posted but now resides on a different page or mixed in with other … (16 comments)

Vidlisting's real estate video upload and conversion functionality is fully automated - no waiting for someone to approve your video (which we are sure in some cases actually means manual processing).
You'll have your real estate video available and viewable online within minutes. video: Become A Great Low Budget Real Estate Videographer By Forgetting About The Camera - 01/21/08 09:48 PM
The low budget real estate videographer smiles all of the way to the bank. They dont know more - they just know the right things to know.  For instance, they know that cost of the equipment isnt what makes a good video.   the low budget real estate videographer will just smile and nod approvingly when others speak of the hundreds if not thousands of dollars in equipment that they have spent on equipment. If the intent of the filming is not to have a business but to assist the REALTOR(r)'s business of selling properties, the low budget videographer knows that effective property videos can be produced with professional results using video equipment that has been begged, borrowed, or...ummm....purchased … (4 comments)

video: How To Get Thousands Of Views And Generate Leads Using Your Own Real Estate Video - 01/19/08 02:25 PM
Ever spent the time to upload a video to a video site and end up with only a few dozen views in the first months?
http://vidlisting.com/ within the past few days surpassed one million real estate videos viewed (over 80% of those views were property videos). Until today, all of the content was filmed exclusively by Vidlisting.
As Chicken Little says, "today is a new day". Vidlisting has just opened the same very effective video distribution system to agents, builders, and professional videographers that film their real estate video content (property videos, podcasts, and interviews).
It is hard to generate leads without prospective buyers watching your … (47 comments)

video: Introducing Performance Based Pricing For Video Tours In South Florida: If People Don't Watch, You Don't Pay - 11/26/07 10:15 PM
Vidlisting will begin offering performance based pricing for video tours for residential properties in South Florida. We'll be adding other areas in the United States over the next few months.
What Does Performance Based Pricing Mean?
Property videos are actually advertisements. Advertising is generally priced on the actual or anticipated views not the cost of production.
Performance based pricing shifts the costs of residential real estate video tours from production to marketing success. Instead of paying an upfront flat rate fee for 6 months, you pay only a small variable fee per view. In short, the total costs are in relation to the amount of video views … (4 comments)

video: Measuring Online User Loyalty And Interest Using Hard Data From Your Website Statistics - 11/01/07 01:01 AM
Hopefully, this post will show people how to glean useful data out of their site statistics. We'll be using our own actual data as the example - therefore all of the analysis is in the context of real estate video.  However, the same techniques can just as easily apply to listings, virtual tours, or blog posts.
Measuring Engagement Is Important But Interest and Loyalty Are the Next Steps
We've previously taked about engagement which is defined as the willingness of a visitor to watch a video (see http://activerain.com/blogsview/163603/Measuring-Online-Engagement-With).  The below data is an extension of the engagement metric as we are analyzing the … (3 comments)

video: Shaking Up The Property Video Business Model: Vidlisting.com To Introduce Performance Based Real Estate Video Pricing In Selected Areas - 10/30/07 02:53 AM
Property videos should only be considered expensive if not viewed
We have been doing a lot of thinking and blogging about how perfomance should drive pricing for any type of advertising platform and how property listings of any kind are really just short advertising spots. Many say that video tours are not worth the risk/reward. It is time to take away the risk of paying some high price for a property video that ultimately gets few video views. Our real estate video company - Vidlisting.com - will be making an announcement at the FIABCI Congress of the Americas in Panama this … (3 comments)

video: Property Videos Can Be Expensive At Any Price When No One Watches - 10/24/07 06:58 PM
Below are the current views for 66 property videos posted on a major competitor's real estate video website. No matter what was paid for the video services, would you consider a property video expensive if you had less than 10 views?
---------------------------
We looked at a single vendor on the "most active" tab of a very much blogged about real estate video competitor. Only property videos were considered.
- 5 of the 66 property videos for this given videographer currently have more than 50 views
- 44 of the 66 properties have 10 or less video views
- The total number of views for 66 property videos is 1137 views

video: Extending Pat Kitano's Concept Of “Hubs And Spokes” To Include Value Measurements - 10/20/07 09:12 AM
Thinking About A Hub and Spoke Model
Pat Kitano captured the idea of distribution of content with Web 2.0 re.net sites (or perhaps even web 3.0)  far more eloquently than we have been able to with a model of "hubs and spokes".  He outlines his thinking in an excellent recent article about redefining a social networking community via hubs and spokes . Pat states for instance:
"Social networking connects the real estate pro to far more diverse communities (hubs) via relationships that extend beyond their physical sphere (spokes). " and goes on to add, "A Realtor can be exposed to a big subset of the community through … (0 comments)

video: Progress Report: Performance For The Critical First Fourteen Days Of A Video Listing - 09/09/07 09:25 AM
The first 14 days of any listing of any listing are critical with the second 16 days running close behind.
Here is the 14 day performance for an video of Los Bosques (a recent development project in Panama):
First 14 day total: 541 video views
24 day total: 975 video views (as of this writing - still 6 days to go)
Only consistent performance around the hard numbers of property videos will improve the the odds for getting what sellers want: sales. The number of views of other types of content like conferences or interviews have little to do with buyers. … (1 comments)

video: Testing 1024 pixel wide Real Estate Video That Doesn't Buffer Or Pause / Is It Worth The Effort? - 08/28/07 12:07 PM
Online video normally buffers...for us, it is usually one of the drawbacks of using video online.
However, our 640 pixel wide video doesn't buffer on probably 95% of the systems out there.  So, always trying to push limits, we have been hard at work on pushing 1024 pixel wide video without buffering.  Here is a sample:
http://www.bienesraicesvideo.com/player/videopage.asp?vid=Test1024576&t=i
Of particular interest is the closeup of the tug pushing the ship through the Panama Canal. There is a lot more work here than meets the eye.  We know that we can get the same results up to at least 1200 pixels wide (again, without buffering).
Remember that this … (3 comments)

video: Game Changing Day In Real Estate Video: Adobe Releases High-Def Version of Flash Player - 08/21/07 10:09 AM

Technical details are here: http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pressroom/pressreleases/200708/082107FlashPlayer.html
What does this mean? Property details will be crisper and more accurately reflect the production values of the videographer.
No worries! Vidlisting.com films exclusively in HD - we have been waiting for this technology to release for some time.  Here is an interesting article entitled Adobe's Latest Flash Move Could Be The Death Of Amateur Web Video that covers some … (6 comments)

video: Obeoman Returns, Challenges Again, and ... Well...You Decide - 08/17/07 07:02 AM
A comment today from Steven Stearns (Obeoman) from the virtual tour company, Obeo, on MyBlogLog:  (http://www.mybloglog.com/buzz/members/marfie)
"A general though [SIC] about content: Inman news can get over a thousand views of a video from RE Connect. Again, I doubt there is a single residential listing in the median price range in its market with over a thousand views."
OK, I'm game, where do I start and what do I win?
A property video with only 1000 video views? We'll just take one at random that has over 2300 views: http://www.vidlisting.com/player/videopage.asp?vid=zzzkdskjjkf&t=v
Lets see:  single residential listing? yep. Median price range? yep. Over 1000 views? yep...more than … (8 comments)

video: Vidlisting.com On Track For 90,000 Real Estate Videos Watched In The Month Of August 2007 - 08/17/07 02:55 AM
Our Video Audience Continues To Grow We crossed the 75,000 monthly video view milestone in July 2007. Right now, at the halfway point for the month of August, our network of real estate videos is on track to approach or surpass 90,000 video views for the month of August. Considering that we have only 9 months live and just surpassed 500,000 *all time* video views in June 2007, this is no small growth. What is most interesting is that we have only posted new property videos this month...no non-property content (conference videos, roller coasters, etc.) has been uploaded this month.
