Grateful for all those who fought for our freedom Yesterday was November 11, a day of remembrance. But we should be grateful, and remember those who served, every day of the year. I'd like to say "Thank you for your service" to anyone who has participated in the defense of this country, recently or in the past. Some of my family members were servicemen in England, and I admire those old pictures of men in uniform, standing proudly. I will be eternally grateful. Every veteran should be photographed and remembered, with their stories told. There's a very interesting article in the Maui News (8 comments)
memorial: Healing Field in Tempe AZ - annual rememberance

Tempe Arizona has a touching annual tribute to the Sept 11 victims that I thought was worth sharing. What a great way to remember this world-changing event. Once again, Tempe Town Lake will host a "healing" field to honor the 2996 people killed in the senseless September 11th terrorist attacks on the world trade center. The number of people killed include those brave people who tried to save others. This year, nearly 400 volunteers set up the field of American flags - one for each human lost. I went last year and I cannot begin to tell you (1 comments)
