paia: Paia Maui HI real estate sales - what's new this month?

Paia Maui Hawaii 96779 - it's a small market, but it has some very high priced real estate. Currently the starter homes begin around $480,000 and the oceanfront listings start at $4,000,000 and go up over $21,000,000.
Ocean and beachfront offerings make up about half of the real estate listings market, but not the selling market. In the past 12 months, out of 38 closed residential sales only 5 were oceanfront totalling over $35,000,000. While the number of oceanfront sales are low, the total dollar volume was more than half of the total dollar volume for all sales.

Thursday is the day we head out and preview some new listings on the north shore of Maui, in Paia, and Haiku. We convene at the beautiful Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville to exchange information and network. After the meeting we car pool or drive on our own to see the homes for sale. It was a big line up of properties priced from around $500,000 and up to $6,400,000.

At the Maui Country Club in Spreckelsville they are doing so well with their family dinner nights that they are announcing a new "adults only" dinner night every Thursday. Please leave the little ones at home so the adults can have a quiet evening enjoying some of the great food that Chef Sean Christensen prepares.
What are the other dinner nights?

You know what they say... "Where there's rain, there's rainbows". Yes we are blessed with many beautiful rainbows on the north shore of Maui. This is taken at Ho'okipa Beach Park on a day when windsurfers and kite boarders were all playing in the big winter waves.
Even the birds are enjoying the wonderful weather we have here on Maui.

There have been 6 closings, including one oceanfront property that has been on and off the market for years!

Tropical gardens at Mama's Fish House Restaurant, Maui
If you follow my blog you'll know I post a lot of pictures of the exceptional food at Mama's Fish House, or photos of the views. There's no denying the food is the star of the show when dining here, but there's more to the whole experience than just that.
They also have beautiful tropical gardens for guests to enjoy while they wait. Take a look at these pictures as an example, and you'll see what I mean. Lots of palms, ti leaves, bromeliads, dracaenas, giant taro leaves and more.

When it's time to eat lunch or dinner in Paia Maui, the Paia Fishmarket restaurant can be counted on for good fresh fish and other choices. I tend to always get this delicious Ceaser salad with grilled mahi mahi or ono, but often find myself eyeballing other plates as they come out of the kitchen. I haven't tried all of the dishes, but judging from the happy faces at the family style tables, it's all good!

I'll just show you how good they look and you can imagine the rest. Loaded with chunks of crab, and garnished with a nice little salsa and some of those flying fish eggs that are so crunchy and yummy.
Any time you go to Mama's Fish House in Paia Maui you're in for a treat.
Take a little extra time to stroll down to the sandy beach and watch the windsurfers dancing on the waves.

If you're visiting Maui, or even if you live here, don't forget to do some browsing and shopping upcountry in the little town of Makawao.
