Some pictures of plants and flowers from around here to brighten your day - Aloha from Maui County - Hawaii Those pink fuzzy ones are Protea Kings, and the spiky ones are pincushions. These were grown in upcountry Maui, in Kula on the slopes of Haleakala - the dormant volcano.
This is Lobster Claw Heliconia - in the same family as bananas. This flower is about 15" tall. The leaves are over 6' long.
They grow very well in Haiku Maui, HI, on the windward side.
