summer: Summer Camp 2016 at Point Loma Nazarene University

As many of you know I volunteer to be a High School girls youth leader at my home church, Redemption Church here in Gilbert, Arizona. Every year in June we take hundreds of kids on a five day Summer Camp to San Diego where we stay on the campus of Point Loma Nazarene University. This year we chartered ten buses full of youthful exuberance and made the trek to the ocean where we all played games, sang songs until our voices were almost non-existent, and stayed up way too late every night laughing and sharing our lives with each other. summer: Getting the creative juices flowing again

We all need to take time off every once in a while to recharge and get refreshed from our hectic work and personal lives. A well planned vacation or quick three day weekend get-away can work wonders in clearing our minds, bodies, and souls. Up until this past weekend I hadn't taken any real time off since last October. Sure, there's been slow real estate days here and there that I dedicated to getting caught up on paperwork or straightening my home or office but up until last week I hadn't truly gotten away. It has been at or near 90 degrees here in Gilbert for the better part of three weeks already. I've had all our windows open in the house and fans turned on in an attempt to keep our house around 80 degrees to avoid turning the air conditioning on in March but today was just too much. We came home from church this afternoon and it was 85 degrees inside the house. It's March and my air conditioner is on. If it's this hot already I am not looking forward to Summer.
