healing: Saturday Soundness ~ Health from the Soil? - 01/27/24 06:31 AM
It's been a hot minute since my last, "Saturday Soundness" post. This post may seem to have a really strange title. Soil? What on earth?
I have been, "digging in" to the subject of "soil" for a while and wanted to share some really interesting information with you. We all understand the various soil types from the fine, powdery types, to hardened clay. Each type of soil has a different mineral content, organic makeup, and compaction differentiations.
We know that soil is imperative for growing food, anchoring plants to prevent erosion, and, building our homes and structures upon. Soil is essential in our … (20 comments)

healing: Saturday Soundness ~ The Benefits of Hydrogen Peroxide - 09/30/23 07:28 AM
Hydrogen Peroxide is a wonderful substance but many have no idea the many ways it can be utilized. It is a wonderful germicide that is composed of only oxygen and water. The benefits and uses are endless. Here are just a few of my favorite ways to use this wonderful substance:
💧Mouthwash - I use peroxide to swish my mouth out every morning. Not only does it kill the gross stuff, but it helps to whiten your smile and can wipe out those nasty canker sores in a flash. Use it to also sanitize your toothbrushes.
💧Pets - Our Goldendoodle was groomed the … (20 comments)

healing: LIV2DAY - Healing Relationships - 09/28/21 05:59 AM

Most of us have experienced grief as a result of a troubled, broken, or ended relationship in our lives. This experience can cause tremendous pain - not just emotionally, but physically as well. Ongoing emotional pain can even cause toxicity in the body - leading to chronic ailments and even disease.
In this episode, Dr. Paula explains that "healing" from relational pain or loss doesn't have to involve the other person; nor does it rely on his or her response to the situation. You have everything within reach needed to take steps toward a healthier you … (8 comments)

healing: LIV2DAY - Healing - 09/25/21 05:24 AM

What would you say if someone asked you to define healing? The degree to which wholeness permeates your mind, body, and spirit will absolutely affect how you heal. When one part is struggling....one part is sick or damaged...it makes sense that we would encounter a slower healing process.
In I Corinthians 12:26 God's word says, "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it." Our relationship to Almighty God will experience the journey toward healing that each of us will face at some point in life.
Come along with Dr. Paula in discovering what our Father … (5 comments)

healing: Have You Experienced a Forest Bath? - 08/15/21 03:35 PM
While I was visiting Colorado last week, I heard for the first time about a practice that originated in Japan called Shinrin Yoku or, Forest Bathing. The premise is to simply slow down and soak in the elements of the forest or the nature that surrounds you.

The basics include:

1. Put away your phone.
2. Focus on every sight, sound, smell, texture, temperature, and the elements.
3. Take a mental snapshot of what you are experiencing.
4. Focus on something new and examine it.
5. BREATHE! Enjoy the moments.

Science shows that engaging in Forest Bathing actually decreases your blood pressure, bathes your cells in a natural … (10 comments)

healing: Christmas Miracles Still Exist - 12/16/20 01:45 PM
Amid this challenging year of 2020, we have all experienced things we never, ever expected. But, isn't that life? None of us can really know what tomorrow holds, can we?
As believer's however, we can hold onto the promises from God's Word. Throughout Scripture, we read of the many miracles that were witnessed in those days. Often, we mistakenly believe those miracles only occurred for mankind in those days. For those of you who have experienced a miracle from God, you know firsthand that miracles still exist today.
Recently, a dear friend of mine who is going through breast cancer treatments received the … (20 comments)

healing: CELEBRATING A SWEET VICTORY! - 09/12/10 03:37 PM
CELEBRATING A SWEET VICTORY!  Today I was blessed beyond measure when I put on my running shoes, headed to downtown Houston and ran my first race just 8 weeks post op from my open lung surgery.
The Run for Recovery Race celebrating those recovering from drug and alcohol abuse.  For me it was celebrating a different kind of recovery.  None the less, I was out there and it was awesome!
As I rounded the last curve and saw the skyline of downtown Houston, tears poured from my eyes.  8 weeks prior I was laying up in the hospital just a few … (9 comments)
