multnomah county: Things are looking Grimm in Portland - 10/11/11 04:41 AM
Over the past couple months I’ve been seeing more and more signs and not knowing what they meant until today. Seems things have been getting Grimm all over Portland and when I mean Grimm, I mean the brothers Grimm.
NBC has been filming a new show called Grimm. The basis of the show is that the stories of the Brothers Grimm were true and the last of the Grimm family can see what others can’t. Murders are happening all around us and the only one that can stop them is the last of the Grimm Family.
So, on October 28th … (9 comments)

multnomah county: Ever wonder what the difference between one apple and another is? - 10/10/11 12:39 PM
Ever wonder what the difference between one apple and another is? I used to think all apples were the same, red, green, yellow, Eastside, Westside, all apples were the same, or so I thought. But, then a few years ago, I attended a apple tasting event and quickly discovered that each and every apple has its own unique flavor and crispness.
Well, I just found out this upcoming weekend the Portland Nursery located at 5050 SE Stark Street in Portland, Oregon is having one of these apple tasting events. You can taste all the different types of apples and even taste … (8 comments)

multnomah county: I know you said you would invest in real estate in the Portland area when pigs fly, well… - 07/17/11 03:53 AM
I know you said you would invest in real estate in the Portland area when pigs fly, well… This is the time, because pigs are starting to take flight! You see right now you can buy properties on mortgages again at monthly payments that are well below what the current rent would be on those homes.
Presently more than a 1/3 of the homes are being bought up by smart investors who are buying these properties for prices that are giving them a monthly income of up to $500 a month! Can you imagine buying a property for $800 a month … (7 comments)

multnomah county: Willamette Park in Portland, Oregon a fun park for the entire family! - 09/01/10 02:01 AM

This was a fun park that had something for everyone. One thing I liked about this park is there was an off leash area for dogs. A lot of people, despite their being a law against it, have their dogs off leash in the area parks and with kids around, you never know what can happen.
But, this park has plenty to do including tennis courts, playground equipments, soccer fields and access to the water for both boats and humans. Don’t forget fishing! During fishing season you can fish right off the dock or the shore. I’m not sure I … (7 comments)

multnomah county: The Schiller Station War time letters - 02/07/08 10:00 AM
It was November 9, 1944 when a young man wrote to his bride back here in Oregon. She saved some of these letters and somehow they got placed into a wall of the historic 1912 Schiller Station home.
These letters, when found, had some damage. One was destroyed, but most were saved. The seller, who did an amazing job bringing this home back to life, wanted the history of the home to go with the new owners and so he decided to keep everything he found, or couldn't use in the remodel, for the new owners.
One of these things that the seller … (8 comments)

multnomah county: Oregon's Columbia Gorge - What a sight - 10/13/07 10:34 AM
Yes it is true, I wore a leash everyday during the summer when I was toddler. You see, both my parents are teachers, and during the summer months my dad worked as a camp ranger in the Oneonta State Park and Campground.
The reason for the leash was, when I was one and a half, while hiking on these trails with my parents, I thought I would take an adventure that wasn't on the map. I fell off the trail and fell down a cliff onto a ledge. Lucky for me, I was stunned, and didn't move and fall the rest of … (5 comments)

multnomah county: We’re Still Kickin’ – 2007 Multnomah County Fair - 05/27/07 07:17 PM
2007 rings in the 101st annual Multnomah County fair and it is fun for all. As I wandered around, I met
people of all ages and everyone was having fun.

The Multnomah Country fair started in 1907 in Gresham, Oregon and this year was at Oaks Amusement Park in Sellwood. Oaks Amusement park opened in 1905 and it really brought the history of the fair and the park together.
Oaks Park features the 2nd largest indoor skating rink in the United States and is one of the oldest continuously operated amusement parks in America.

multnomah county: O.M.S.I. (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) - Fun for all - 03/14/07 10:14 AM
What a learning experience for young and old alike. TOUCH, FEEL, PLAY and INVENT. That is just the stuff for the adults (LOL)
This interactive museum features an Apollo lander that you can sit in and realize how cramp these guys really were on their trip to outer space. Learn to make airplanes and have competitions to see who makes the most aerodynamic one. I lost this last time to my 8 year old daughter. That hurt a little bit!

Lots of fun can be had by all and the featured exhibit changes about every 3 months, so you can keep … (0 comments)
