Would you buy a car well above your budget?
 
For most people, the answer in no. Then, why do some potential buyers insist that their agent show them homes they cannot afford? 
 
Viewing residential properties listed higher than the ability to purchase is a complete waste of time for everyone. Buyers often get emotionally wrapped up and then realize their purchase power falls way short.
 
Besides, the seller's expectations are agreed upon prior to listing their house for sale. Paperwork is signed, photos are taken and they are in go-mode. Chances are, a low ball offer will get rejected, setting the tone.
