This variety of cactus blooms only twice a year here in southern Utah and produces dinner plate size flowers in white, pink and yellow that grab the attention! Thank you honey for taking the time to stop during your busy day to think of me and send me these gorgeous flowers.

Our Navy son Sebastian surprised us for his birthday, travelling all the way from Hawaii! Wow! What an amazing gift he gave to all of us. He said that things seemed different coming home, that things had changed.
I looked at him and said, "No. You have changed, you are seeing your surroundings differently now. This will always be your home but home will also be wherever you travel."
As life goes on, we seem to evolve and accept our surroundings at a much slower pace when we remain in place.

Roses typically love the southern Utah Fall temperatures; cooler days with crisp evenings.
Yesterday my husband sent me flowers but left them intact for everyone else to enjoy as well.
Technology has made instant communication so easy and verstile. No need to clip these beauties or call and order them sent via florist. Snap and send!
Now if someone can invent a smell-a-vision app to also excite the olfactory senses, they'd really have something there!

While driving through the Sun Country Meadows Townhomes community in St. George, Utah, my attention was drawn to the water feature until a black neck swan swam into sight. As he neared the edge of the water, I realized he was quite an unusual bird with the bright red lob on it's beak, black neck and head and ultra-white body!
He was pondering as I was just wandering and then wondering how such a creature was designed?
Apparently he earns his keep by greeting all passersby and is very good at what he does.

This photo was taken from our front yard when the wildfires were almost to our house. The combination of electrical storms and a dry summer created a perfect environment for quick-start burns. Thankfully nature played a huge part when the rains came, becoming a great deterrent to further destruction.

Look but don't touch!
Pretty pink balls of fluff dotting the natural scape captured my attention as we stopped to gas up for the trip home from a day fishing trip. The razor sharp spikes in the leaves were less noticable as I approached and just as I reached out to feel the texture of the bloom, I thankfully refrained.
Nature justifies sustainability and I am not to question why. That is just the way it is and can respectfully look but don't touch!

Here it comes! A solid sheet of rain transcending over the landscape, hurriedly crossing the valley, dousing every nook and cranny in its path. We are getting our fair share of moisture these past few weeks as the clouds dissipate, build again, then spill several times during the day. Rinse and repeat!
I prefer a slow and steady rain so quit yer squalling Mother Nature...uh, that is just a request, I would never dream of telling you how to go about your business.
