It's Caturday! Meow's the time to adopt a kitty from a local shelter.

Today, this day is a great time to donate to your local Animal Shelter. Normal adoption fees for cats are $40 however, during this event if you bring a pet supply donation to the St. George Animal Shelter those fees will be waived.

Just like the cat in the picture I am in shock too!

Come on, celebrate International Cat Day aka Caturday. Adopting a pet while also helping other animals at the shelter sounds like a good plan to me. This event will start today, August 8th and will go till August … (12 comments)

Feeling empty? Fill 'er up with service!

Volunteering has always been an important aspect of giving. There are times when I need a lift so yesterday, I volunteered for the Special Olympics venue at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah.

The spirit of competition and comradery among the athletes was awe inspiring from the opening parade ceremony, the field events to the presented awards. So grateful to have spent time with such amazing people.

I must sincerely thank everyone all for the endless laughs, smiles, high fives and fist bumps and congratulations on your wins!

18th Annual Dixie Power Kite Festival | St. George, Utah

Saturday the 22nd of April, 2017, hundreds of children will converge on the Dixie State University Encampment Mall to celebrate the annual Dixie Power Kite Festival!

Since 2000, the festival has garnered good reading habits among elementary kids and their families, has been a great success and is widely supported.

Proceeds from the festival go to the Washington County School District Foundation. Thanks to the many people who volunteer their time and energy!

The Kite Festival is an affordable event for all and many events are FREE, including parking, admission, some children's games, entertainment, the concert, fireworks, and of course, kite flying.

Ho! Ho! Oh-No!

I came across a post written in 2011 that directly impacted everyone present and still humbles me today. In a country where we tend to Have It All, there are children who lack even the basic necessities.

A Christmas Wish List:

On it was a teen's biggest hopes for Christmas and instead of a skateboard or I-pod or X-box, he wished for a toothbrush and toothpaste. Talk about being humbled.

Immediately, tears came to my eyes, her eyes … (8 comments)
