A Simple Request ignored!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with WHISPERING PINES REALTY 20398180

I met my new neighbor today.  He bought a foreclosed home right down the road and I thought I would introduce myself.  After some small chit chat, he told me he was unhappy with his agent, who was also the sellers agent.

He said it seamed that every simple request was met with I don't know, or gee that'[s a good question.  The one that really got him, was his request of a local phone book.  He only has a cell phone and not looking for a land line anytime soon.  His agent just ignored this simple request.

I told him not to worry I had an extra back at home.  So I jumped into mhy car and retrieved a brand new phone book.  He was so impressed, he gave me his buddies number.  He is looking for some good hunting land.

I have 5 or 6 extra phone books along with maps of the area and all kids of info from the local chambers.  Simple free items that make a difference to people.  This FREE phone book could pay a very high dividend!

William: this seemed like a simple request and it pays off. Its a good idea to have a few phone books then. Very helpful tip.

William,

Just being a good neighbour pays off; it has for me. The other guy burned bridges-you crossed them.

That is too bad that there are still people like this making $ in our business. That is just rude!

William:  What a great idea.  Just doing that seemingly little thing could have a very major effect on the number of referrals you may receive from him.  Service is what it's all about.  Great job !

Maybe his agent threw his own snail-phone book away, too.  Assuming everybody lives life your way is dangerous.

Bill...

When folks are new to an area. they devour all the information they can in an effort to make their new house feel like a home. I still wonder why anyone would buy a house from a listing agent though, that is rarely a good thing!

Whether an agent classifies themselves as a "buyer's agent" or a "seller's agent"; customer service is still the first thing that any client is looking for!  And when an agent like yourself provides that, it is really noticed and does provide the dividends!  Good For You William!

William,

Way to step up to the plate and all you did was just stop in and say hello and welcome to the neighborhood.

Another great free item is to have your title company run a full report on the property. Hand it to him in a three ring binder. Voila-put your one page branding sheet on top.

Good Morning everyone.  Thanks for visiting.  I have kept extra phone books in my car for years.  There have been many times someone has wanted or needed one for the local area that had no idea where to find one.  Somple jestures often go a long way!

It doesn't take much to help people out, something as simple as a phone book or a map can go a long way.
