It is beyond understanding--just my opinion!!

I usually run far away from political controversy.  I feel that every one has a right to have and  express their opinion .I respect that right. I am not writing this blog to criticize how and what decision is made by parents for their children. It is obvious that  responsibility is theirs as  parents. That being said......

Why was there such criticism over the President of the United States taking the initiative and time  to focus on motivating and inspiring our  school age children.   He took the time to personally visit the classroom with a message of what the future could hold for these young students. They have an opportunity to accomplish what ever they can perceive.  What better example than our First  African American President.

Regardless of politics or policy, regardless of who is in office of  the President of the United States,

The President holds the highest office in our United States  of America  and deserve the respect of all  Americans.......regardless of party affiliation

Some parents  objected to their children listening to the President's message. The message was  about the students own  responsibility to the student's individual duty to  application of  learning and continued education.

Where is our respect for the leader of our country?   The  President was voted  by majority vote into the Presidency ..that alone should merit him respect from the citizens of the Greatest Nation on earth.

Our children are exposed to  imaginary super Heroes, the hidden dangers  of the internet, potential threats on the street with drugs, Pedophiles in many of our  neighborhoods,  peer pressure  yet some worry that a President of the United States will somehow influence these young minds with a political agenda.

I apologize for the rant but you listen to some of  the news about  children murdering parents and parents harming and murdering their  children and the whole world through the eyes of the media is going to hell in a hand basket.  ..a real harm of our children...today's society.

In 1988 President Reagan, one of America's most loved President spoke a message to our school age children.

President G.W.Bush spoke to our young children concerning education.   This is nothing new....no new method of attack toward influencing political policy to our children

Laura Bush , a true advocate for the education of our children and a teacher expressed her support for the actions of President Obama's in addressing the youth...our future leaders.

Why would this gesture of concern for the education of our children cause such a stir....I will never figure out. Our President advised these young students

" Be careful what you post on the web...it will never go away and you could be famous someday.".

yeah that a message that needed censored so our children would not be influence by political advice.

Again this is my rant....my confusion...over something that was meant to be good yet looked on as such a detriment to our children that they were censored from listening to a President of the United States....God Bless our America........This nhas nothing to do with political affliation only respect for the Office of President of United States................

June - I agree wholeheartedly!  I'm finding the extremes on both sides of the aisle the ones who are at the root of most of this trouble and asinine agendas.  Civil debate is healthy, but some of this rhetoric is downright nasty and alienating.

June, like our friend Jason, I also agree. It's baffling that things have deteriorated to a point where there is no compromise and no willingness to at least TRY and see a different point of view. We seem to have lost our ability to agree to disagree. The worst part is that many times it's boiled down to I'm right and your wrong. This is not what our society is about but it's certainly an agenda pushed by folks on both side of any conflict these days. Hmmm...I think I might post some about this subject! You have put this in such an articulate manner with an measure approach that would be well taken by "Rational" readers!

Hi Jason  Thanks for your comment.  This truly wasn't about politics but about Respect. I talked this over with my daughter, although her words were " I don't get into Politics "

but that isn't what this is about..not politics or policy but fairness and respect.  She said one school did not have the students watch the broadcast in school, but gave the information to all the students to take home and have the parents decide...that was a respectful compromise.  But the way the media and some of the radio opinionated talk people made  the President a dictator trying to get at the children..you are right a respectful, healthily difference of opinion is one thing but why so dirty and nasty?

Thanks Russ to you and Jason both for your " always support "   I agree with everything you both said.  I had second thought about this blog and was about to delete it again especially since I agree with my daughter about " I don't get into Politics"

not even healthy conversations , to me that is a personal choice. I re-read my blog and thought no.I am going to leave this as it is.....It is about Respect for the Highest Office in the Nation. Thank God we have our freedoms to have our voice heard,

but why is that freedom abused by extremes and yes as you said both sides.  My vote is for RESPECT.

BTW just a note my dad-was a die-hard absolute loyal voter for one party ( he would tell us to go and just check the Xparty

( we would say yes to dad and vote however we wanted LOL)

My brother was for the opposite party just as dedicated and just as loyal...They loved each other very much as father and son...but politics...they clashed like two oncoming trains on the same track.  All those years of hearing their political differences.

( That is why " I don't get into politics ) the ending to the story my dad has been gone now for 3 years and this year my brother voted for my dad's party of choice.....we laugh about it all the time.  ....we are a funny human race aren't we?

June, you are a delight, and i am so glad i found you!!  You have penned my exactly sentiments in a very profound way, and i do applaud you on allowing your words to be expressed here.  The office of the President is the HIGHEST position in the United States!!!  Just the very office itself is ORDAINED of GOD!  His WORD says we are to give honor to that office!  I have been reading lately in the book of Romans which says in 13:2...

"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."

It is so disheartening to WATCH and hear FELLOW AMERICANS curse this office... what is even worse are those that SAY THEY ARE BELIEVERS IN JESUS who have blatantly & outwardly damned the very elect for the whole audience here on Active Rain to see!  We are to pray for the president.... my heart aches to see the damnation that could cause us as a Nation to be divided..... then taken down.... all by using the devices of the enemy.... who ONLY comes to kill, steal, and destroy!

The ray of hope we have is in the solitude of inward peace..... KNOWING that GOD will use what the devil meant for evil for OUR GOOD! We know that we do not war against flesh and blood... so i will not dare enter into these worthless mind against mind battles!  What i and what ALL BELIEVERS should do is.... PRAY FOR OUR PRESDIDENT!

Thank you for creating this post!
