Annapolis Views..It's A Beautiful Snow Day in Davidsonville MD

It's 1pm on Saturday December 19, 2009. It has been snowing since about 8:30pm last night. We have about 15 inches right now with no end in sight. It is quite beautiful looking out through my camera lens.

This storm is the biggest we have had since Feb. 2003. That year we had just moved into our new home in Davidsonville the spring before. We had moved from a home with a short driveway. Our new home has a looooong driveway on a private road. In 2003 we had not even bought a snowplow yet. We were stranded for days as we slowly shoveled our way out to the main road.

Today we have a snowplow. It is covered in snow. We will have to dig it out to use it. Our neighbors who live below us in the valley have parked their cars at the top of our driveway. After the last big snow rendered them stuck for a week in their driveways they are not taking a chance this time.

The holiday lights lining our walkway that are peeking out in the photo below are now totally covered. Will be interesting to see if they glow through the snow tonight. The Granny tree under the front porch by my front door is covered in snow too.  Nothing is sacred in a storm of this size.

Yes it is a beautiful Snow Day in Davidsonville MD.

Truly it is

It's a real monster isn't it??

We're up to about 20 inches on my deck and still coming down.

My fingers are crossed that the electricity holds.

Martha:  I'm hoping it stops soon.  For now, while there is still daylight and I can still manage to walk (after all the shoveling) I think I'll go snap a few shots myself.  Stay warm!

Martha, Where did all that snow go?

With rain and winds most of the night, there is very little of the white beauty remaining.
