Are You Prepared To Be Judged On The Content Of Your Character?

By

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character? Today is a day of great expiations!

Today is the day we set aside each year to honor the legacy of a man, just a man, infract a flawed man, a man just like us. A man made great by his incredible dream, a dream that we would all reach a point where we judged all men by "the content of their character!"

I'm not going to tell you how to judge men, you'll hear enough of that today.

I want to ask are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

Do you have character worthy of honoring the man's memory?

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

In our sound byte world have you abbreviated "The Golden Rule" to "Do unto others?"

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

Do you think logicly or hate blindly?

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

Are you entitled or do you earn your place in the world?

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

Do you stand for the underdog? Even when he's richer than thou?

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

When you represent a client do you act as their fiduciary or place your own interest and expediency above the client's?

Are you prepared to be judged on the content of your character?

I really try to live up to content of my character.  Each and everyday it does require us to try to be selfless and not selfish.

Every person on earth has a character worth honoring, because all people deserve to be honored and respected.

Arron,

Yes and no!

"all people deserve to be honored and respected."  I totally agree.

But, "Every person on earth has a character worth honoring"  I can't agree about everyone's character! Evil deserves no respect! Although in the face of some evils it does pay to be prudent.

I think most people want to do the right thing every day.

However American culture and politics are running away from all that.  They want people to be glamorized for their fame and fortune and talent instead.  So many of these people that get put on a pedastel are nothing more than scoundrels and tramps that know how to hit a baseball, know how to sing good, or their family has the right last name.  Americans idolize them though.

Rob,

It's easier to judge people on the superficial, so, so many people do.

Yolanda,

Aren't we all?

Life is a practice, we're constantly learning.

There are those who've stopped learning, but they are the walking dead, and not much fun.

Bill, yes I am ready to be judged by my character, and those that are not need to get their house in order because they will be judged whether they want to or not.

The question is would your mother be embarrassed by your actions, would she utter the phrase, this isn't how I raised you. If you think she would, then don't do it because your character is about to be taken down a notch. Would the people who know you be willing to do a handshake deal with you, because they know your handshake is as good as any contract? I know my friends would and I also know where I'm going when I die!

Todd,

I can and do live with that!!!!!!!!!!!

"Would the people who know you be willing to do a handshake deal with you,"  That is why I loved the old Farm and Land Institute! When I was traveling the country exchanging real estate I always ask the REALTORS I met "What's your best buy?" I'd get a useless answer, but I's listen. Then I'd ask the money maker. "What's your biggest problem?" I'd take notes!

I arrived at a strange office very early one morning I sat on their front steps waiting for my REALTOR another REALTOR showed up, I took him to breakfast and ask my two questions. When we got back it seem my guy's desk sat end to end with the guy I took to breakfast. We did our thing, I'd driven 1,200 miles for nothing!!!! We went to lunch, I ask my questions. Then we went back to their office and I suggested in writing how they could solve both their problems.

6 months later I got a bank draft for 5 figers in the mail, no cover letter nonthing but a large check. I called the bank and found out who sent it. I called and ask "What's this?" he said they finaly prensented my suggestion, the one the salesmen turned down to the clients, I got one third of all fees. This is only one story of my 10 years with FLI, it's a two way street.  So I gusses the answer is yes!
