PC Politically Correct Or Permanently Closed Minded

Forty some years in finance and real estate has given me the opportunity to see the results, the unintended consequences of allot PC bigotry. Bigotry, when we insisting on labeling people, when we isolate them in the name of diversity, when we limit them by building walls between them and the masses, when such things are done to an identifiable ethnic group it's discrimination! Who discriminates between people, bigots.

When well intentioned people accept the illogical because it sounds so good with out regard to what is really happening we call them PC, politically correct. But, who's politics? When you accept the PC with out debate, with out logic, when it can't be discussed, when you can't support your position, only insult any diversity that's definably PC, Permanently Closed minded!

Shakespeare once asked: "Would a rose by any other name smell less sweet?" I ask you isn't the opposed also true? If discrimination is called diversity is it any less foul? If building walls between people is called a "melting pot" is it any less discrimination? If PC people can't discus their differences with those that have the same goals are they any less closed minded?

I spent 20 years helping the victims of bi lingul eduction. (Another PC oxymoron!) I've seen the results of multi lingual eduction, it creates a permanent under class of minimum wage workers, with out regards to anyone 's personal ability. In Vegas we call switch people "house keeping staff" if they are truly bi-lingual some get called "supervisors" what they are not called is upper management!

I feel so sorry for those who can't support their ideas.

One very funny thing came out of this exchange. Remember I'm the one accused of being anti-melding pot, criticized for remembering Walter Winchell's soliloquy (From the movie.) on English being bastardised by including so much from other languages. I laughed so hard when he criticize "e pubis unium" as not English! I have to wounder what he spends. That little Latin phrase has been with us forever, out of many one, describes our melting pot! Out of many one, not remain many, that many not be PC, but it explains American Greatness!

Bill point well made.  Oddly enough those who I find most guilty of doing that are those who proclaim to be opened minded (liberals).  However, there open mindedness seems to cease when others do not share the same opinion or belief.

George,

It is indeed!

Or how about the pro-choice people, who only accept one fatal choice?

One from our childhood: The coming ice age people accepted no disagreement. There grandchildren disagree, but are just as intolerant.

Seems like for people running and insisting on bilingual education, it is about control, money (grants) and their own jobs, but how come their victims do not understand it? why they are so closed-minded? Why they make this choice, when there are other choices?

Jon,

The educators like their victims believe it's discrimination to insist on English. The promoters on the other hand see the languidly handicapped as a long term supply of minimum wage workers. The victims believe they lack the understanding of our melting pot.

The Democrats, the Rhinos and their bureaucratic minions don't believe in epuribs unium
