Special offer

Please don’t let it ruin your holiday. Mr. Director of Loss Mitigation.

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Does anybody really care about our service men and women? Please don’t let this spoil your Memorial Day weekend. After all, Memorial Day is when we pay tribute to our service men and women that have departed this life, and not the ones that are alive and protecting us now.

And if duty calls, and an active serviceman cannot sell his house due to a depressed market, and is forced to leave to a new assignment in a distant place, don’t give a second thought to the fact that your department has had an offer on the property in their hands for over two months, and yet no one in your department has even bothered to look at it.

And never mind that Monday is a holiday, and Tuesday is the first Tuesday of the month, and that your company will be forced to buy the property back on the court house steps for way too much money due to your inaction.

And try not to think about the fact that you had the opportunity to do the right thing and yet you chose to put your own holiday plans ahead of the interests of your customer, your company, and your country.

Have a great weekend but don’t overdo it. I suspect that you will have plenty more free time in the near future.

Hi Richard,  Great post on reinforcing the need to remember our past servicemen and to make sure that the current Directors of Loss Mitigation are truly doing their jobs...  ;>))

I think that the holders of the mortgage have the right to do what ever they want to do, but why did they make us jump through all of the hoops, make all of the calls, and keep the buyers on hold if they were not even going to consider the offer?

could be that the sale will be postponed Tuesday morning at the last minute.  Not uncommon, I hear

I guess they just make you go through the hoops to look like they are doing their jobs.

Richard:  It's shameful the way the banks are letting so many fall through the cracks right now.  There are more failures than successes.  Love the picture of the flag.  I can almost hear it flapping in the breeze.

Too true, Richard. Well written but unlikely to reach the Director of Loss Mitigation.  I'm sure he took off early today to get a start on the holiday weekend. Thanks for at least trying to help our soldiers, Richard.

I do not understand why any service person has to be put in this position. If they serve they should not have to worry about the mortgage. Don't you think that is the least we can do for these brave people?

Richard, are you kidding me? You cannot be serious. This story should be with the newspaper, with a new channel. I thought that when the men and women were overseas the house could not be foreclosed on.

Richard, please, call the news people, have them go to the auction.

I want to say more, but I will behave like a civilized person here. Wait till I leave the room though.

Great post! And sad that the banks are treating people this way. But to think that they would do so to anyone who is fighting for our country's freedoms... THAT is unforgiveable!
