Well, at least she isn't a Realtor: ""I love this business. Just the financial side of it is not for me.""

Hundreds of Raleigh area Brides and attendants may not have dresses, from WRAL-TV.  The State of NC Department of Revenue has shut down Diamonds Bridal and seized all property in it.

This quote, as well as the one in the title above, just jumped out at me:

"Asked if she knows how to run a business, Hipps said, 'To be 100 percent honest with you, I don't.'"

Sure glad my Sweetie had a loving aunt who turned out a pretty workable wedding gown for her.

And, she wasn't a businessperson, either.  So, she limited her promises and met them.

Isn't the first rule of business somehow related to gaining understanding of finance and business, so you can be accountable to clientele?  I think so.

I guess they were not over delivering.  I guess she was honest but it sounds like she needed to be honest much sooner.

Marchel,

Yes.  Someone is paying the price for "deferred honesty."  Or, more accurately, "many someones."

Well, so much for understatement.  I hope that wasn't your soon-to-be wife that this happened to.  You were somewhat vague.

No one should be in business that doesn't understand the "financial side".  Better then, to be an employee and perhaps not that great an employee.

Don,

Shhhh... If my current wife who wore her gown as my "soon-to-be wife" many wonderful years ago hears...... LOL

Re-reading what one has written can be enlightening.  HMMM.... You made a connection I never thought of.
